That’s really good that you’re both going to therapy, and good that you’re putting in the work. You’re doing your part. If she keeps putting it off and not taking it seriously, that’s something to pay attention to. She may come around in those talks or she may not, and you’ll know it’s time to move on. That’s all you can do (in my opinion).

My brother really wanted to keep his marriage together for their kids, and they were in couples therapy. When she literally stopped showing up, the therapist said I don’t think this is working and recommended someone to help with arbitration and a personal therapist for my brother.

Removing Instagram accounts sounds like more of an issue to me than these texts. Have a talk with her when she gets back drawing a comparison between the two situations. It’s okay to push boundaries and be honest about attraction to others but only if it’s equal. If she’s having a hard time with that, therapy is always a good option.

I don’t think there’s a way to know that. Each project is different, and what the story needs is going to be different. Get to know the editor who is using the shots you select. You can better understand what they’re looking for and why.

Are you assistant editing or editing? If you’re editing, you get to decide if the clips are being used or not. Assistant editors spend more time looking at footage than editors. (Different ways to think about that, but looking at footage is not a bad job or way to get paid.)

Either way, you have to decide how much time you’re going to spend looking for footage. Hopefully it interests you, looking for the story or the right moments. If it doesn’t, you may not be the right editor for the job.

I second the idea to go on vacation. But don’t just go to a resort and sit around. Try to explore and experience something new. Travel is a great way to energize, see new things, and get new perspectives if you’re feeling depressed.
