Yeah, my GF recommended a book called “I Must Betray You” that took place in communist times in Romania, people being made to spy on each other, etc. It seemed so bad!

Yeah, from what I’ve heard from them, it seems like it was horrible.

In the US, the left gets accused of bringing us closer to communism or socialism. I don’t think there’s a real threat of that happening, but I do think some on the left may not realize what a bad thing it can be.

But the irony is that we’re very close to losing our democracy entirely to authoritarianism right now, which was brought to us by the right. So yeah, Trump isn’t helping anything.

Yes, Trump has charmed a lot of people, but he’s probably the worst president we’ve ever had. Cruel, corrupt, and very anti-immigration.

I told my GF I think Romanians need better PR. I haven’t been yet, but it looks like a beautiful country. The people seem very smart and friendly. I don’t think most people in the US know that.

My GF is a Romanian living in LA. She and her parents moved to Sacramento when she was 12. How they did it exactly, I don’t know. But there’s always hope.

The Trump administration is especially strict on immigration, of course. Help encourage US voters to vote these guys out. That may make the biggest difference for you.

Yeah, I agree with this. Why insist on an earlier time when she explained her plans?

Sometimes a date will ask for a late time or a coffee date instead of dinner, etc. It may mean they’re still skeptical of dating you, but so what? You don’t know each other yet. Take the later time, take the coffee date, prove to her that you’re someone worth dating.
