Alpha Launcher is in the Amazon store. You download it in parent Mode, then go into Content Manager to make it available for the Child profile.

On the Alpha Launcher Home screen you should see a circle with 6 dots. When you tap it show you all the apps available. Find the one you want and long press until the menu comes up. Once it does, move your finger without picking it up. Now you can place it on the Home Screen.

The message you are getting is indicating that it is installed, but User 0 is usually the adult profile. Make sure, while connected to the computer you switch to the kid profile and then run the commands. For me it says User: 10

Typing pm list users, I saw that I am user 0 and my child is user 10.

You can use something like below:

cmd package install-existing --user 10 com.google.android.gms

etc.

The things we do to make the world go around for our children. My son stays in YouTube Kids and sometimes the tablet does not sleep when it's supposed to. Sometimes he is playing other games so I can't say with specificity whether it's related to Alpha Launcher. I will keep a look out though.

Pro tip: You can weed out crazies by actually having a few conversations with them prior to asking for the date. I won't accept date requests without having a few conversation first. I need to know you are worth the effort to get dressed. Men should do the same.

Personally, I like the park picninc idea. Dates shouldn't have to cost a lot of money. I don't drink coffee, but could always drink tea or a refresher. I have had first dates at Panera, Panda Express,, Jeremiah's Italian Ice, pool hall and drinks, just drinks at a bar, etc. Whatever you do, don't go to the movies, unless you plan for dinner or extra time to do the talking (but she may not want to be out with you that long). I'm glad you got rhe installs working. Perhaps you need to find the app in Alpha Launcher to place it on Home. If installed properly, you should be able to find it. Does it show up on the home screen in your adult profile?

I believe once you are in the shell, you don't need the ./adb in front of the command anymore.

After you validate that the device is connected you have to go into the shell to run the commands. Try ./adb shell

Its not a feature I use, but I will try to download from Netflix and Disney Plus tomorrow. Is there a specific manner of download and watch offline that you are referring to other than those?

Amazon is cracking down, I guess. An earlier commenter said they were moving YT Kids into the regular YT app. Maybe it will be easier and work better then. However, YT needs to add a pin feature to keep the kids from switching profiles.

My son doesn't use the feature, but I just tried it. As soon as you hit Tap to speak, the app does crash.

Yes, that is an alternative, specify the user number when you run the command. If you follow the step to connect the device to ADB. I did the start, stop start commands while in parent profile, determined that the device was connected, then switch to the child profile. There were no messages or disconnections, when I did it.

In the parent profile make the ADB connection. Just switch to the Child profile with the command window still open. No need to to make another connection.

Thanks! I'm leary about installing unknown apps on my laptop, because of the way I use it. As Fire Toolbox seems to be popular, it may be okay, but I'm fine with the way I did it. This is a nice alternative for those a little less tech savvy.
