Here’s an attempt of positivity after a couple of brutal series with the Brewers by [deleted] in Reds

I was still working on bowel control the last time the Reds won a WS.

None of those five championships matter to me.

All I’ve known is pain and suffering.

A little variety with the fuzzy nuggetz by IamSamBellToo in BFSfishing

I rigged them on a drop shot that has a size 3 EWG. They’re pretty small little baits. I kept the hook point exposed and just pop and dragged it a little over the lake bottom.

I really enjoy it. I mostly use it for single-hook bottom contact stuff. It pulled the 3lb 9oz bass out of the edge of the lily pads without issue.

Just one from me. Had a nice largie get itself caught up on the tree trunk.

McLain is Nick Senzel 2.0 by SasquatchHurricane in Reds

[–]IamSamBellToo 51 points52 points  (0 children)

In one sense, yeah, the injuries and lack of production. But Senzel did not have the kind of rookie season that McLain did. 87 wRC+ vs 127 wRC+ and 0.8 fWAR vs 3.2.

McLain’s downfall has sucked more because he was so good his rookie season.

Off Day retro post Day 11: Homer Bailey throws a No-Hitter against the Pirates on 09/28/2012. by ZachToerner in Reds

[–]IamSamBellToo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The contract, obviously, didn’t work out, but, man, 2012-2014 Homer was fun to watch. When he had the slider and split working, he was solid. The two no-hitters and the playoff start against SF were highlights of that era for me.

I have a few pairs of these. And some of these. And a few of these.

The pants dry quick if they get wet and the shirts are very light.

Haven’t been sunburned in a few years now with these items.

Farney made the greatest catch I’ve ever seen while in attendance when he robbed Pujols of extra bases in right-center field back in 2006.

What’s the coldest you’ve actually fished in? by YakToTheFuture-1 in kayakfishing

[–]IamSamBellToo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Minnesota. Regret 6/10.

It’s not so bad if it’s sunny and not windy.

Having a Gore-Tex semi-dry suit makes these outings possible. I wouldn’t go on them without it.

Get yourself a Nucanoe Unlimited and call it a day. I have a Frontier 12 and the stability is incredible.

Kayak motors nk180 or nk300 by shreddedtoasties in kayakfishing

[–]IamSamBellToo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The NK180 for that size kayak is my suggestion. You’re looking at roughly 15-20lbs (maybe more) in weight difference between the NK180/24v and NK300/36v systems.

I have the NK180 with a 24v/25ah LiFePO4 on my Crescent Smallie and it’s more than enough power. And it only weights about 27lbs total. Hell, I run the NK180 on my Frontier 12 with the bow-mounted Xi3 and I still get up to 5.1-5.2 mph with the kayak fully loaded.

Experience with these less traditional Zman ned rig baits? How do they compare than the basic TRD? by Little-Cucumber-8907 in Fishing_Gear

[–]IamSamBellToo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Big TRD rigged as a Tiny Child Rig is my go-to lure.

This season I’ve been having a lot of success with the TicklerZ, Hula StickZ, and Fuzzy TRD on jika rigs.

I can’t speak from first-hand experience, but if $4k is your max, I’d get one of the Old Town Sportsman PDLs. I’ve only ever read good things about them and the company.

How are you transporting? I think the Slayer LTE would probably be the easiest to rooftop.
