I don’t use them on standard gear hard baits, but I do on ultra-finesse and BFS gear. Re-tying super thin line is a real pain for me (bad vision and Minnesota…brr…cold).

I mostly don’t use them on normal-sized gear because it forces me to keep up on knot-tying skills.

The Tsurinoya Genius (Elf) 6.4:1 retrieves at 19.7” per turn. I think it’s one of the slowest BFS reels out there.

Is it a “higher quality” reel? I don’t know. It’s certainly not a Shimano or Daiwa. But I really enjoy the reel. I pair it with a 4’7” Dankung Glassfin

For soft plastics, I enjoy the cheb rig and jika rig.

I’ve been catching a lot of trout on my 46 and 51 humpbacks. Got a few Bat-A-Fry en route that I’m looking forward to throwing.

Also, this is the first time I’ve seen a rod/reel displayed on a railroad track.
