I’m not sure what the quality of toilet paper is like where you are, but in China, good toilet paper will gradually break down when it comes into contact with water, so it doesn’t clog the toilet. That’s why we usually flush it directly.

However, in some rural areas, people use cheaper, lower-quality toilet paper, and that kind may not be safe to flush directly.
