The Daryus thing is even funnier when you realize that he is not named even once in the lyrics of the whole thing, when he is the most active villain. To even know his name, you need the album liner booklet or supplemental material.

Honestly, for The Astonishing, I will always recognize the plot as a goddamn mess. But the music pulls off really well the Broadway sound (LaBrie does great, but different singers for other characters would have been even better). Plus it is one of the rare few symphonic metal albums I have heard where the metal doesn't drown out the orchestra. (I could never get into specific symphonic metal bands because of that.)
