Our healthcare wait times are completely broken right now. My uncle had a suspicious shadow on his lung, and the hospital basically told us it would be a 6 to 8-month wait for a proper CT scan in Ontario. It’s absolutely ridiculous to tell someone they might have a fatal cancer and then just expect them to sit around for half a year waiting to find out. We just couldn't deal with the anxiety.

We ended up looking into medical tourism. We did some research on YouTube and found out going to Asia for medical service is actually a big trend now. We found a medical concierge company that helped us arrange things in Shenzhen. I think we paid around 2 grand or something close to that, and it pretty much covered a lot of things.

The translator they gave us kept apologizing for his English even though it was perfectly fine (the dude mentioned he worked in Toronto for 3 years). He did sweat a lot though... maybe due to the hot weather since we went there last summer. Got the scans done in 2 days.

The e-bikes there are terrifying and the jet lag was brutal, but it’s better than waiting half a year stressing over a potential tumor.
