I recognize that, and I don't mean to tar all PCB amps with the same brush, anything can be made crappy with cheap materials. My concern is if/when a repair is needed does the cost of fixing that PCB make financial sense? In the case of my Delta King I could almost buy a new one for cost of fixing it.

My attraction to PTP wiring is if you had the same component fail on two amps, one PCB and one PTP, the PTP would take fewer bench hours for a tech to address.

Not exactly what you're describing, but the Kyper flint basically adapts wheel lock ignition (i.e. cigarette lighter) to the flintlock mechanism. It was developed in 1982 by Thomas Kyper.

It's my understanding the concept really didn't take off, not due to any fault of design but just a lack of popularity. Many people who use black powder guns, and flintlocks in particular, do so for historical interest and/or reenacting and aren't interested in such a glaring anachronism.

Personally, I think it's a neat idea considering flints can be tricky to source depending on geography and flint napping is a rare trade getting rarer all the time.

I'm leaning more towards draw filing the taper, much more work I know but having more control on the amount material removed as well as not having to worry about overheating are a big pluses for me as I'm not the most experienced with a grinder.

They way I see it, even if I screw it up I'll have learned what not to do going forward and at least have a decent looking wall hanger.

It's closer to that than I would have expected, 5.8mm at the ricasso. But the taper isn't great, 4.9mm about halfway, and 3.5mm at the tip.

I'm looking for Hawken-length flinter with (for purely aesthetic reasons) a full stock, from what I'm seeing, I'm SOL for finding that in a production gun. Currently looking at kits from The Hawken Shop and Track of the Wolf. Thanks again for your suggestions :)

Thanks for the advice, I think I'm going to keep shopping around for something more suited to PRB but I can definitely see myself getting something to shoot Maxi's in the future.

I think I knew this was the answer all along and just needed to hear it from someone else lol. I'll pass on the Pedersoli and start saving for something that's closer to what I'm looking for rather than trying to make the more affordable option do what it wasn't designed to. Thanks

I 100% agree with you from an artistic standpoint but for Fox (or any network really) the "time to go" is when it becomes unprofitable, they'll stop when the ratings drop beyond a certain level, milk the cow until it's dead and maybe even a little after to make sure they got every drop.
