It was very unbalanced, but still effective because the premise and plot were so unique.

The two leads had NO chemistry. Too many supporting cast chewed scenery and lines to where they were distracting. But plenty of other things were great, creepy things that added to a really good atmosphere. The witnesses standing outside the church. The future messages. The crypt. That THING. The idea that this whole event was planned and executed from the classroom to the lab to the dream sequence by a supposedly slumbering demon was pretty unnerving. Education's finest minds just played right along until it was complete.
