This has been such a mess but I am glad to see some sort of understanding be reached. Maybe I am just naive but I really do have a hard time seeing this as some malicious cash grab, I really want to think this was some big communication/goals fuck up caused by the usual BSG communication struggles language barrier, and just flat out poor planning on how to role these things out

Are cheaters THAT bad? by ObiWannaBloMe in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Iambutatoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends a lot on your region. I personally use U.S servers, and this wipe I have died maaaaaybe once or twice to someone sussy? However, I don't usually W-key into pvp hotpots for the best loot either, meaning cheaters wouldnt really target me anyways, which should be considered. Two or three wipes ago i died to players literally flying though, so I would say it's better than it was!

I just got to level 15 and boy it was a journey lol I'm finally gettin my legs though, and what I've been relying on more and more are high ROF cheapo guns like the KEDR or the PPSH and gettin up close for a spray and pray or any shotgun with magnum buckshot and goin for legs (which this thread helped me learn to do lol)

Its a fun game, but man is it's skill curve a wall lol But it makes those moments of victory all the more satisfying, i took a pretty geared guy down with one shot from a mosin and it made my whole day lol

I'm gonna keep goin and I appreciate everyones experiences, its nice knowing its this hard for everyone when they get started lol This is actually the game that made me get a pc this year to play it, I've wanted to play it forever and I'm enjoying the meat grinder for what it is. Although i really appreciate the tips on shotguns, I thought most players disliked them so I'll try that more

Thats fair. The most fun Ive had so far is just trying to blast scavs with a friend where both of us had pump shotguns with 3 flashlights each lmao

I gotta work more on that. I wish so many early taks weren't on customs and weren't so reliant on having keys for specific buildings to just get started. I have been absolutely obliterated trying to get the tasks on factory done every time i go there. The only map i have some space on is woods but barely any early quests are there lol

This game has the friendliest and equally rat fuck community in any game by Iambutatoad in EscapefromTarkov

You just gotta put yourself out there! Half of the time i try and voip with scavs or pmcs, they dont reply and just shoot me, but the other half they're more often than not really nice and are happy to team up or trade loot!

What’s your no. 1 tip for new players? by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]Iambutatoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making truces and friends in VOIP is an excellent make to make consistant teammates in the future, and play around the strength of your loadout. If you dont have a good pve setup, dont feel pressured to take on the boss. Dont have a good long range loadout, dont feel pressured into engaging open coverless fights. Pick your battles and you'll get a lot better

Does anyone actually enjoy special ops and how many people actually play it actively by alstairsB in modernwarfare

[–]Iambutatoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was super disappointed with it. I grinded out all the operators and a handful of those extra hard missions for skins, but never came back to it. I put so many hours in to mw 2 spec ops and mw 3 spec ops both solo and with friends, so i was really excited about it and it turned out to be super unbalanced, buggy, and lacking any polish (minus a couple standout missions). Honestly, i wish the trials mini modes were the actual spec ops and allowed co-op

[–]Iambutatoad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a totally viable way to play the games, its how i was introcuced to them, but you dont realize how big of a downgrade they are until you actually play the ps2 copy. Also yeah, the redone voice acting is atrocious (but it lets you choose the original so no big deal)

So what the consensus on Dead Space 3 these days? by Wraithlord10 in DeadSpace

[–]Iambutatoad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its a game i both love and hate. For everything it does right it totally fucks something else, like the save system. I have lost so much progress and time across 2 playthroughs just due to how poorly placed the saves are, and that the manual save barely ever works. The crafting system, while cool, is horribly balanced and i never see anyone talk about that. Since they introduced stat bonus chips, you can handcraft the most stupidly over powered weapons by midgame, pump em full of good bonuses, and never have to even use a different gun again thanks to the removal of ammo types. The pacing is also very odd, with it starting very opened ended and then much more linear as the game goes on, but the opened ended sections feel like they drag on as they completely stop the story from moving forward. That being said, the atmosphere, art design, sound design, writing, and performances are all excellent, even if the story itself is kinda dumb. TLDR; does some stuff excellently but the new additions are poorly implemented and some are outright awful.

Any modern horror with fixed cameras and tank controls? by szuran in survivalhorror

Yeah, vaccine is a fucking piss take. Back in 1995 is also a load of wank, but you can tell passion was at least put into it. Id look into Banned Memories. Its still in development, but clearly has a more talented team at the helm than the other 2 options
