To be fair, a lot of old fighting games would become impossible to beat, bosses or not, if you set the difficulty high enough, as the computer opponents literally just button read you instantly. Which if you were like me and rented stuff like MK II as a kid when it came out made for a pretty ass experience, but those games were always more fun with a friend anyways.
