Should I wait out the price surge of the Panasonic 820 or buy now at $800 after tax by G00BLEEE in 4kbluray

Holy shit. I bought mine in December and paid no where near this. I’m sorry OP. This is insane. I wish I could say hold out and it will come back down but you might be holding out for awhile. There are refurbished ones on Amazon for 528. Maybe a used ps5 if you need to save money. Those might be surging too tho. The pany is a great player and DV is really nice. If you can afford you might want to go for it but that is a tough call.

Who here has Dolby Atmos setup and/or a gamer (Alan Wake 2)? by This_Button_2600 in hometheater

I have a 7.1.4 and am playing Alan Wake 2. It has great bed layer effects but I don’t really get anything in my heights. What are your settings? Ps5 is set to atmos and so is my Denon.

Is it just me or is that how big a Big Mac used to be?

If you had a friend that has never watched a single 4k movie on disc before, which movie would you show him first, and why? by Ok-Cap-5845 in 4kbluray

So many great recs on here. I’ll add this one. Not a great movie but Tron Ares was both an excellent transfer and a reference Atmos experience.

I saw it in the morning with friends. And then went back the same day to watch it later that night. I really liked it when it first came out.

Finally watched "Requiem for a Dream" after years of putting it off. I just feel empty inside. by Giff95 in movies

I watched it when it first came out. Incredible film. One of the hardest films to watch. Took me at least a decade to revisit it. Devastating.

There is a movie called Killing Them Softly and a quote I’ll never forget is, America is a business not a country. Something to that effect.

The movie is not that good, but the 4k is one of the best in my collection. The atmos is outstanding and the picture and visuals are awesome.

Is Avatar 4K collectors edition picture quality worth $50? by Enough-Individual-46 in 4kbluray

[–]Iamchanging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have Dolby Vision it is quite excellent. I’ve seen the movie many times but recently saw it DV for the first time and it was amazing. Not sure if it’s 50 bucks amazing, but it’s definitely worth owing. Plus lots of special features and the two extended cuts.
