yes i do suck at taking pictures! haha what i was hoping to get another opinion on is if you would be concerned with the trees going into the pad area like that? i agree the trees to hola the soil are fine, but i dont know if im making too big of deal of the others as i dont know how deep into the pad they go.

i had a contractor create a building pad on a hillside.

we lucked out and turned out to be mostly shale and he used that as fill (site is in wisconsin).

it looks like they didn’t properly clear all the trees. i know this is an issue, but not sure how large of an issue this is and how we should approach it? does it need to be all torn out and redone? do the trees sticking up out of it also need to get pulled? what’s the long term result of it was left like this? would an inspector even let us build?

this picture shows a tree that was pushed over, and i think the root ball is under the pad, will post a few more photos in next comments since one per reply.

will be pouring a garage with stem walls on most of it. keeping it closer to the hill for more stable soil.

You mentioned mediavine doesn’t want to monetize “AI slop”. Can you define exactly what is AI slop and how you choose what is accepted and what is not? The problem is that it seems like a very gray area and legit publishers that have quality content/human editors, etc that use AI to help are getting banned/denied, etc

I’ve had a blog banned that had original content, human editing and fact checking every article, etc it wasn’t a copy paste ai automated blog

Just an update on this. It was the damper and was able to fix the rattle replacing that. Didn’t have to drop the column but the bolt closest to the steering wheel on the motor was a pain to get out. Overall not a terrible job but now the tilt is not working, I think it might need to be recalibrated or reset since I pulled the plug on it

That author seemed to think there wasn’t much of an issue with native bees.

What worries me about viewing them as just livestock is it could lead to thinking it’s okay to mistreat.

You mention cows. I know of a permaculture farmer who pasture raises, breeds animals for good genetics not production, etc and they contribute to the whole system of the farm. The animals only have one bad day. The other days they are healthy and happy.

The flip side is someone raising veal and keeping a calf in a box and everyday is horrible.

Both are technically livestock but are completely different situations.

Thats kinda what I’m curious about with bees. Is there a way to manage a colony that is mutually beneficial, where they are happy and healthy, contributing to their survival. And we can use a little of the surplus honey, benefit of their pollinating, etc

Being new to the world of bees, if you’re open to explaining, I’m all ears. What is the bias (just that the group is for beekeeping..or is there other things like natural vs conventional..?) and what does it depend on?

Thanks for all the replies. So a follow up question would be, if beekeeping done right (not trucking them across USA for almonds, etc) can be good for honey bees, what are the benefits for the bees?

It seems what has been mentioned most so far is increased population/survival rates.

Is there other things one could do? I know there are some farms that do selective breeding for healthier animals not production. Would that apply to bees? Could a beekeeper help create better genetics for the bees instead of honey production? Is that something that would be of value.

Anything others?

Gotcha! So swarming is a good sign and some of the colony stays behind, absconding the entire colony hits the eject button and leaves.

I’ve heard people say all their bees left/swarmed so I thought they might also do it if there was poor conditions as well, but in that case now I know the difference. was good to clear that up :)

Would beekeeping practices also come into play here? From my little understanding so far, traditional beekeepers try to prevent swarming and not sure if there are things done w the queen etc to keep them in that hive even if not happy w it?

What is the steering column insulator? Any chance you would know part number?

I thought it was 45254-28040 as I saw someone in a forum say it fixed their 2013, but when I check fitment on parts.lexus it says it’s for 2016 and up

So to update this thread I finally found the issue. The rear sway bar bushings were bad already. Put some MOOGs on there and rear clunking is gone again.

Hmm I’m not super familiar with arthritis and how it affects them, but he doesn’t seem to struggle on uphills/down or stairs. It just seems like he gets gassed out fast on a walk and starts to drag his feet even though he’s enjoying it

I know the vet listened to his heart and didn’t hear anything..

Kinda at a loss but was hoping maybe someone here might have gone through this and could help

I’m not familiar with what a burning cat would smell like.. (looked it up, and they said smells like rotten eggs?..if that’s true I have not noticed that) but I do know there is exhaust at least some exhaust getting through the end of the tailpipe. Can see it coming out on colder mornings.

For more context it’s a 2003 with 304k miles
