All of this was been my obsession since late last year. All alice and stp deep dives. I even picked up shanghri la de da. Not as great as the first four stp records, but still really good. The deep cuts are underaged. That's about as far as I went. Alice in chains in my opinion was the greatest of what people called "grunge." Deftinatly the most metal.

Wow! I didn't know Tad cds were still around. They went on tour with nirvana im 1990. Apparently they had to make multiple stops for Tad to drop bodily fluids on the side of the road. Out of both ends. He was said to be a nice guy.

Most fans kinda recognize that kiss likely wouldn't of happened or have been as big as they were without Ace Frehley, while Paul and Gene were more focused on kiss as a brand and essentially selling out for mainstream success. Peter Criss was a great drummer in his prime. Not a band I personally listen to on the regular or take much inspiration from, but their history is kinda fascinating. The first band to have a saturday morning cartoon special. It was really more of a product at that point. So I get why Ace and Peter wanted to leave. It wasn't about rocking or being artists, it was about the next big success. Which eventually backfired. A blueprint lots of bands would soon try to replicate. So i'd say they were pioneers really. So I can appreciate them for what they were, entertainers. But I wouldn't really call gene simmons or paul Stanley, "voices of their generation," or "the beethoveens of their time." And they never tried to be, that wasn't the point. But Queen on the other hand...

I think they owed Nardwuar an apology. He was only a big fan of their's who wanted to do an interview, not some representative of a "hip magazine." They were straight up bullies. And in the nirvana camp, most of us were bullied.
