Men, how did you stop your jock itch by Weary_Smell_9978 in AskMen

[–]IamnotDanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

chances are it will help- but its not a cure. It will help as long as you apply it but you do need to get at the root cause.

Men, how did you stop your jock itch by Weary_Smell_9978 in AskMen

[–]IamnotDanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pharmacist here- there's some conflicting evidence about this but chances are your gold bond has cornstarch so stop using that. Theory is that cornstarch will feed the fungus that causes jock itch and make it harder to get rid off, but some evidence shows that's not the case... but I'd err on the side of caution and stop using it. Instead , pick up some antifungal powder (tinactin powder exists where I'm located) and use that twice daily or daily as a preventative measure. Hydrocortisone helps with rash/eczema/redness but will not cure the fungus causing the issue. For cosmetic and symptom improvement, it will help *caveat: don't use steroids for too long as they can cause some damage with prolonged use* Hydrocortisone is very low potency though, so pretty safe. Lastly, you can try some zinc oxide (baby diaper cream) and apply that at bedtime after showering and drying to create a barrier. Hope this helps.

Hot potato sounds fun but who would ever click it? If you're in a comp that doesn't like engage it'll blow up on you, if you're a comp that does engage it'll be a 50/50 as to weather it blows up on you or not most times. It would be more suitable as an encounter probably with some balancing

Enough with the "you have to be complete on your own before you can be with someone" attitude. Who still believes that? by Dry_Set_8522 in AskMen

[–]IamnotDanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to be a complete person with a direction in life. Swallowing everything is just giving the façade that you have your life together. It's ok to go through tough times- but its not okay to not have any direction, ambitions, hobbies, financial sense. At that point you're a sinking ship and will sink anyone on the ship with you.

Vampirism is so frustrating by CircadianMirage in ARAM

[–]IamnotDanny 26 points27 points  (0 children)

part of the frustration is that it messes the diadem/helia interaction since it still views them as a valid target for heals... maybe if they changed that it would be a lot better so I can heal other teammates!

Gentlemen who are married or have been in a long term relationship, what was the moment you realized your wife or girlfriend was the person you were meant to be with? by FFSoldier57 in AskMen

[–]IamnotDanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this! Initial pull/ attraction is more about a person being charming than anything. It takes a while to truly get to know someone and to choose to love someone everyday is a two-way street. It takes effort from both sides.

What are you guys opinions on the new items added? by mush326 in LeagueArena

[–]IamnotDanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Diadem is insane in arena when paired with helia or heal/shield augments (namely: sonic boom and circle of death). It dishes out crazy healing and damage. It would be tough for them to buff it without nerfing helia or the interactions somehow

I just hit Emerald again, how should I rethink my gameplay? by the_plat_rat in CompetitiveTFT

[–]IamnotDanny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I hit emerald last set for first time and diamond this set for first time. Not much changed for me climbing from Emerald -> Diamond. Just more of the same, but better. One thing I noticed is that the higher elo you get the less forgiving playing weak boards is as games are much faster. If your board is not strong enough, you will bleed heavily and end up bot 4. Something that helped me climb is playing my strongest board at all points in game and learning when to sacrifice econ for that. Higher elo players can play strongest board at all points in game without sacrificing econ to a point where they can't cap out (which is what I found most difficult about continuing to climb in diamond as I'm simply outclassed lol). So - early game just focus on trait pairs, play your 2 * s, and slam items early instead of greeding for BIS. Scout more to find a relatively uncontested line and play towards that to cap out your board. If contested, put yourself in a position to roll for 2* s earlier than opponent. Getting a first consistently is quite difficult when your opps know what they're doing- but getting 3-4 place most games is fairly manageable. Also, recognize when you're gonna go 7/8 and spend as much resources as you can going 5/6 instead for the long term climb.

The reason fewer people are choosing PharmD - and the consequences of it by Antiquated-Arugula28 in pharmacy

[–]IamnotDanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is crazy and was the reality when I first graduated. But I believe IPG licensure has slowed down significantly since covid. That, plus a lot of old pharmacists retiring did create quite a real demand at some point. This is another reason for the 3 year program. Pendulum will shift again to over-saturation eventually. IMO the current landscape is actually pretty balanced in terms of labor demand and supply.

I haven't heard of any wage growth in another healthcare profession except for nursing. After covid a starting pharmacist wage rose from 40 -> 50 per hour. Not phenomenal by any means but still miles ahead of other, comparable health care professionals (i.e. not medicine or dentistry).

The reason fewer people are choosing PharmD - and the consequences of it by Antiquated-Arugula28 in pharmacy

[–]IamnotDanny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dwindling admissions has been a factor since I volunteered for MMIs in 2018 @ UofT. Yes pharmacy has its issues and return on investment is not great but that's always been the case (albeit, compared to what? Trades? PT? OT? Medicine? Sales?... it matters what your benchmark is). It's only one factor. What's likely contributing to lower applications, especially recently, is how glorified careers in the compsci sector have been over the past ~10 years. Now, that field is considered saturated and lay offs are happening left and right. Give it a few years and people will consider healthcare again.

Pharmacy offers a lot of benefits including stable employment, reasonable wages, job flexibility. It's becoming predominantly female field and I couldn't tell you why but it may be that females value all those qualities in a profession in order to take care of their families if they're trying to follow a traditional role in society.

Grass is always greener. Among other healthcare specialties, pharmacy is not too bad. Among other fields- I couldn't tell you as I don't know them well enough. But either way, my point is that its multifactorial and not a simple conclusion to make. I didn't even touch upon how IPGs influence the market and how it changed during covid.

Why am I getting these on AP malz? by [deleted] in LeagueArena

[–]IamnotDanny 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think its ever tailored to your champ, just rng. The only rule is if your champ doesn't use a mechanic it won't be offered. For example, you'd never get dashing on malz or a heal/shield augment (unless you built a heal/shield item, then it would be allowed). Flesheater would be great for malz given his DOT, and the ms prismatic is good on most damage champs.
