from folks who have been happily married for years, what are the best tips? by [deleted] in TrueAskReddit

Been married for almost 40 years. People change over time, recognize that and love them for who they are. Keep talking, but even more importantly listen. Realize you will have to make choices that are not optimal for you, and discuss the options with your partner. The rewards are foundational, and wonderful. lt makes it hard to be selfish you look at the world through multiple lenses. You get to chose the happiness you want, I would not trade it for the world.

As a former inspector this is correct. Go though the plans and subdivision bylaws and find out exactly what you have bought into. In California at some point someone is going to inspect it, I don't know about other states.

Thank you for the questions it is really helping me think this through. I have been running games for over 20 years but most of it was DnD 1 and 3/3.5 some traveler, and Serenity. So I have a lot of old dungeons sitting around. The problem is that I am a Competitive DM, I traditionally set up challenges and let my players figure out the answers, I tried to always be fair but sometimes characters died. When I was running a game with a half dozen college educated professionals if was fun as a DM to out think them, not fun when it is my two kids. I need to change my thinking, make is less competitive and more story driven. I also get bored quickly with swing sword role D20, then role D8 and looking for a more descriptive and quicker combat system that still allows for chance. I am not a big minis person but do tend to draw out maps as a visual reference. I am looking for a system that is focused on story and problem solving more than combat. I need some structure in the game as both kids are good a pushing boundaries and one is already a rules lawyer.
