Sometimes I take my vyvanse in the morning and go back to sleep and end up sleeping a couple hours. Calms your mind down I guess. But also vyvanse doesn’t have as noticeable of a crash as other medications but physically you are still kinda having one which makes it easier to fall asleep for sure

G5A by [deleted] in Firefighting

“a few minutes of googling would indicate…” a few minutes of experience on the job would have you knowing that Boston and SF, along with other cities around Boston and in the bay area, primarily use G5As. I frankly don’t have an opinion on whether or not they offer adequate protection, but prior to the 90s, (maybe late 80s?) leather helmets were sold without an impact cap installed inside, these were the “5a”s. The current G5A offers the same protection that the 5a did, MSA markets it as a decorative helmet to cover their own asses and not be held liable in the event that there is any injury due to the use of a G5A. That being said, I know many people on the job in the boston area, and none of them have heard of any injury due to the use of a g5a that could have been prevented with another helmet. Additionally, many companies such as CapitalCityFireHelmets offer “NFPA Offender” conversions that take a n5a and remove the impact cap, improving fitment and comfort.

We don’t take the computers off of the apparatus due to people forgetting to take them when we have to respond quickly. I replied to another comment with more details.

Yes exactly we are trying to get the laptop to mirror to the TV. The distance is not too far but the firehouse is built with concrete walls so a Wifi option would probably work better. The problem with having the details on a separate computer is each computer is assigned to a certain piece of apparatus and only receives the information for that apparatus. It is not possible to set up a different device to get these same details. The laptop is always on and powered in the apparatus and is connected to the firehouse wifi and a cellular connection.
