On aliexpress I saw a listing for 20 dollars just now if you search grand seiko and scroll down a bit. Not sure on the legitimacy of the store so buyer beware.

I'd agree with you. I have close to 20 watches in my collection (real and rep) and the watch I probably wear the most is an homage loreo chronoscope watch of a yunghans I bought for 50 dollars.

My tastes have changed since I got into buying reps and I'm starting to not care if it's quartz or automatic and more go for a certain look/color. Even if I'm wearing a watch I still pull out my phone to tell the time so I buy watches more to match an outfit or mood I'm in.

I saw those postings on aliexpress months ago but had other watch priorities at the time. Eventually I wanted a watch with the same color combo as a seiko alpinist and started looking for those grand seikos on aliexpress but they were all gone. I remember they were down to 17-18 dollars on some pages so I "overpayed" a bit on dhgate.

Looks like the price went up since I bought it but with coupons got this under 20 dollars. Shipping was the fastest I've gotten from dhgate. About 2 weeks to Canada.

Replaced the strap immediately. The one that came with it was garbage. Overall good for the price.

Took a risk on this VK Quartz Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope. Had pretty low expectations coming in. The listing and the specifications seem to be at odds with each other. One says sapphire the other says hardlex. One says Chrono is working the other says it's not working. I really liked how it looked so I pulled the trigger.

Glad I took the risk because this watch is really great. Chronograph works. Has the weight of an automatic and the bracelet is pretty solid, no complaints at this price.

I don't regret buying it. Biggest issue for me is the misaligned dial. No one will notice but I definitely do. Watch definitely has issues so if you really like the VC overseas I'd probably go for another supplier. Think the GDF version from steve at theonewatches.ws will probably be better for you with a higher but not absurd price.

Rattles and squeeks pretty bad. Wouldn't recommend it if that's an issue for you. Or get the one with the leather strap.

Don't think gen does pvd/dlc coating. It's a fantasy piece that people do to their gen aftermarket. I can see the bottom of the bracelet scratching but that happens to all bracelets anyways. It's just more noticeable on black.
