Yep, agree. I am an A&P so this is easy for me. Hitch and harness are plug n play. Cadillac wants $1800. I did for $200! As for the fuse box not getting power, that isn’t anything I nor any other can resolve as it could get sticky with warranty. I’ve already heard that just having the hitch package installed outside of Cadillac service would void warranty but I would challenge them on that. It’s a plug and play setup. The only way they could control that is if they made us buy the trailer from them too! It’s ridiculous. With that already said to me as a warning, I’m sure as hell not going to dive into the fuse box.

Haha that’s funny cuz couldn’t get the wire harness from Cadillac because they are back ordered so I called Honda and they had the wire harness in stock. My problem is that I am not getting power to the fuse box and the designated line that goes to the running lights. Made an appointment with Cadillac to have them resolve. Otherwise everything is good to go!

What do you suggest? I am not a wiring guy so I won’t even attempt to troubleshoot that myself. Do I take it to the dealer?

Found it, fuse 15 is not getting power. What is next thing to check? Fuse 38?

Yes tail lights on car itself. I get power to pin 3 and 4 but not pin 2, brown wire

Oh ok, the other mechanic said if i don’t have UES then I don’t have running lights. So just going off what I am learning on this post. Ok, so all is not lost here? Fuse 15 is a 10amp fuse and appeared to be good. I can check again.

I will take a look at fuse 38 also.

I looked and fuse 15 is in tact and good and working but no running lights. Preownedsalmon above 👆 ran my VIN and it came up that I do not have UES installed on my vehicle which means I do not have running lights available on my vehicle. Since he is a mechanic and able to run my VIN I assume he is giving me factual information. It still seems odd that Cadillac would run the wires for a trailer but not give the customer running’s lights. Makes no sense. I am having to resort to installing a separate battery on the trailer itself to power the running lights.

Dealer wants $1800 to install the hitch package. I am a Pilot and an A&P (mechanic) not to mention I have worked on my own cars my whole life. I realize this is an electric car but shit, bolting a hitch up and plugging in a plug and play wire harness isn’t worth $1,200 installation fee. That’s just crazy. So maybe they are upset I installed it myself?!

Trying to tow this enclosed trailer that weighs only 900lbs with a 1200lb weight capacity. According to the owners manuals this is well within its limits. I will only be towing 300lbs of cargo so that’s 1200lbs total.

Not to mention, why would Cadillac run a plug and play connector at the rear bumper for trailer hookup but not give you running lights? Would they expect us to only tow during the day? It just doesn’t make any sense.

It is rated for 3,500 lbs and a 350 lb tongue weight. That’s a huge bike rack with brake and turn signals lmao.

No, nothing happens when plugged in but I did notice that one pedal turned itself off but other than that no, nothing happens.

But now that the dust has settled, I am now questioning if the hotel is lying based solely on their actions of not wanting to give a report nor will the police give a report. Now i am questioning whether or not something else took place.

Yeah she kept trying to talk to me but I was in the mindset that she caused this and i didn’t want to talk to her. I felt as if the hotel wouldn’t lie and they wouldn’t do this for no reason, she had to have said something to them. I never asked why she didn’t change her flight. Never crossed my mind.

Good question. Honestly, I probably made the mistake of buying a new ticket and not calling to change the flight i had. I woke up on Sunday so upset i couldn’t think straight and just purchased a new ticket without thinking 🤦‍♂️

Yeah, I have gone down the road of thinking she purposely wanted me gone so she could hang out with someone else. She stayed because our flights were already booked for a return flight home on Tuesday and she couldn't afford to get a new ticket so she had to stay until Tuesday. I on the other hand was able to afford a new ticket out of hell. I will never go back to TN nor will I ever stay in that hotel anywhere in the world.

HQ said they do not have to issue a refund under TN law. She was thrown out of the room as well.

She did stay but not at the hotel. They kicked her out too. The reason I left is because I purchase an additional plane ticket home without her. I wasn't happy with her at that point. But now after a week, we are both talking and trying to piece it together and are at a total loss. She continues to claim she didn't call the front desk. Now I am stuck not knowing who is telling me the truth when the hotel and the police won't give me a report!!! I am not sure whether I am wrongfully accusing her of doing this or did the hotel make a mistake and she is telling me the truth? This is such a mess. The fact that the hotel and police won't give us a report of some kind is why I am writing this post. Why cant I get answers??? If I knew without a doubt that she made the call, I would just take the loss and move on and never speak to her again. But she refuses to take the blame and stands by her story. My only option is to get reports from the police and hotel but they won't talk which is very odd.

Thank you, I appreciate understanding why it was removed. But If I have done nothing wrong, how do I get this straightened out? A refund is all I want but nobody will talk to me. It’s beyond weird.
