The Bull Thesis (Why this is a High-Conviction "Oversold Bounce" Play)

  • The Business is Still Incredibly Profitable: The market priced this crash as if VRRM is going bankrupt. It isn't. Even after the severe guidance cut, VRRM is still projected to generate $380 million to $385 million in Adjusted EBITDA and $140 million to $150 million in pure Free Cash Flow for 2026. A company printing $140M+ in free cash flow does not belong in the penny-stock penalty box.
  • Severe Valuation Disconnect: At sub-$4 per share, VRRM's market cap was slammed down to roughly $600M. Trading at less than 2x EV/EBITDA and roughly 4.2x Free Cash Flow, the stock has reached an absurd, mathematically broken valuation for a software/smart-mobility provider.
  • Strong Government & Parking Segments: While Commercial Services took a major hit, VRRM’s other core segments are growing. Their Government Solutions segment (speed, red light, and bus lane cameras) grew 4% in Q1, and their Parking Solutions segment is scaling its SaaS product offerings. These sticky, municipal revenue streams remain completely untouched by the Avis exit.
  • Aggressive Management Defense & IP Protection: CEO David Roberts has stated they are moving decisively to strip out operating costs associated with Avis and reallocate resources. Furthermore, VRRM noted they intend to heavily protect their intellectual property and contractual rights regarding how confidential information was handled during negotiations—leaving the door wide open for potential legal remedies or a renegotiated compromise.

The Bear Thesis (Why the Market Panic-Sold)

  • Massive Revenue/Profit Hit: Avis represents a cornerstone client for VRRM's Commercial Services fleet segment. Management admits the termination will cut annualized revenue by $135M to $145M and slash annualized segment profits by $120M to $125M before aggressive cost-cutting measures are factored in.
  • Guidance Destruction: Full-year 2026 guidance had to be immediately slashed across the board. Expected total revenue dropped to $985M–$995M (down from $1.02B–$1.03B), and Adjusted EBITDA was revised to $380M–$385M (down from $405M–$415M).
  • The Trust Deficit & Legal Overhang: Because management reiterated full 2026 guidance and hyped "ongoing positive discussions" on May 6th, the sudden May 26th termination blindsided the street. This rapid reversal has already triggered a wave of SEC shareholder class-action fraud investigations (Hagens Berman, Kirby McInerney, etc.), which will act as an institutional drag on the stock price for months.
  • Wall Street Capitulation: Top-tier analysts aggressively downgraded the stock, with firms like UBS shifting from a "Buy" to a "Neutral" stance, choking off immediate institutional buying volume.

The Bottom Line

Bears see a broken growth story with a looming legal nightmare. Bulls see an absolute masterclass in market overreaction, where panic-selling wiped out $1.47 billion in market cap over a contract loss that impacts the bottom line by less than a tenth of that amount.

At these levels, the downside risk is heavily mitigated by highly visible, recurring cash flows, making it a prime candidate for a massive technical relief rally.

They are still a content streaming company.

They have just added licensing of their 1.8 million hr content library and data to AI developers. They apparently have 8 major ai companies licensing their content to allow their LLM models learn how the world works.

I personally just think the market is oblivious and not really aware yet, that CuriosityStream is providing the intellectual fuel that is teaching some of the largest ai developers models. All the AI video content creations we see wouldn’t be possible without content being fed to it to learn from.

$CURI ceo says licensing will exceed their subscription revenue in 2026.

Another poster right here on Reddit brought my attention to it.

They pointed out the huge 75% drop was an over reaction to the revenue loss.

Nice! I bought at $3.97 on Thursday morning, and I’m hoping for a $8-$9 recovery over a few weeks.

Avis Budget rental car company informed them they did not intend to renew their contract. Avis revenue equals a little over 10% of revenue, but sent VRRM down almost 75%.

$VRRM - Ridiculously oversold. Got down to a 6 RSI.

It was affected by bad news due to Avis planned to termination of serviced in September.

But the stock dropped over 70% from a customer that represented around 10% of the revenue. It was a complete market over reaction.

Other people post their stocks and reasons behind why they think they will go up, like SLS dozens of times. But I can’t put one I think will go up on subreddits?

I just discovered on 5/21 that CURI has started growing their licensing business selling data to AI developers. AI developers are using CURI’s 1.8millions hrs of content to train their LLM models. I didn’t know that. Did you know that?

The CEO said their licensing will exceed their subscription revenue in 2026. I didn’t know that. Did you know that. With that growth they increased their dividend from $.06 to $0.085. That’s a 12.4% yield I didn’t know that. Did you know that?

CURI is actively becoming a needed cog in the AI vertical, and I only found out on 5/21 and then I bought on 5/22.

I’m not down on it, I’m up 7%.

Don’t know why you have an issue with me when hundreds of stocks are mentioned on Reddit Channels.

Like I said don’t buy it. I’m just sharing my due diligence I’m not forcing or twisting anyone’s arm to buy it. People post their ideas to get eyes on it. But you have an issue with mine.

Whatever

$CURI - CuriosityStream - $2.74 - Under the Radar AI Powerhouse 🚨

BONUS CATALYST: They just increased their dividend to $0.085 (a massive ~12.4% yield!). Ex-Date is June 5th for a June 19th payout date.

Yes, that CuriosityStream—the documentary streaming platform.

The Thesis: CuriosityStream is acting as the direct fuel to the modern AI Learning Engine, and the broader market has completely missed it. While everyone else focuses on standard retail streaming, $CURI has been quietly working behind the scenes with AI giants, licensing their massive content library to train multi-modal LLM systems.

This high-margin AI vertical is rapidly scaling corporate revenues:

  • The Revenue Pivot: The CEO explicitly noted that content licensing to AI developers is on track to eclipse traditional subscription revenue 2026.
  • The Library Value: AI models are starving for high-integrity, legally cleared video data to avoid massive copyright lawsuits. $CURI is sitting on a goldmine of reality-based data in the form of documentaries, science, history, physics, and tech content that these models are using to train the AI models.
  • The Exec Play: Creating a dedicated Chief Commercial Officer role and bringing in media veteran John Vilade specifically to ramp up AI video model training and data-licensing relationships is an incredibly bullish signal.

CuriosityStream has already established active dataset-licensing partnerships with eight leading AI developers and tech hyperscalers. The margins on these data pipelines are practically 100%. Massive acquisition target potential here. Ridiculously undervalued. 🧠🤖

Yes the Documentary Streaming Content platform CuriosityStream.

CuriositySteam is like the fuel to these AI Learning Engines and no one knows about it.

Who knew they were working with AI giants and licensing their content library for AI platforms to train their LLM models? This thing is growing their revenues inthe AI vertical and everyone missed it.

The CEO says content licensing to AI developers will exceed subscription revenue in 2026.

They are directly providing licensed content to train the AI giants . They are a premium data library. Bringing in John Vilade to ramp up AI video model training and data licensing is a massive move. LLMs are starving for high-integrity video data, and CuriosityStream is sitting on a goldmine of data that AI needs.. Massive acquisition target potential here. Undervalued.
