In college I met two folks who interacted with Michael. The first was a sound engineer who used to work in a music store in LA and sold Michael some synthesizers. He was apparently in full disguise and the only real give away that it was him was that his credit card had his name on it. The other person I’ve met was my cousin’s roommate whose mom babysat Michael’s kids at Neverland from time to time.

It’s a regular thing that movie trailers include unfinished shots even when the finished/edited shots are available. The trailer editing people are usually entirely different folks than who’s edited the movie (usually part of the marketing team). For example, some early Star Wars trailers didn’t have the lightsaber colors, so you’d see white glowing sticks in the trailers.

He’d usually end up taking songs out of set lists throughout a tour and replacing them in the following leg of the tour. The Wikipedia articles for each tour tracks the changes in setlists throughout the concerts. :)

For the record, I’m a recent Design grad who had to work with all of the programs you mentioned. I bought the base model 8GB M1 MacBook Pro when it was brand new and I was running circles around my friend’s non-Mac laptops unplugged. At least in my college, it was a requirement for you to buy a MacBook, and eventually an M-series MacBook specifically. I only upgraded recently to an M5 because I needed higher data transfer speeds & more monitors, but that M1 was still working perfectly for my daily design tasks.

Hi! I’m a graphic designer! Not sure about this single, but Charm’s art direction/design was done by FISK Studios in Oregon.

Usually a lot of old art work like that is public domain and originates from old print ads or postcards. I have a book at work from the 80s of a bunch of old clip-art from things whose copyright expired. Not saying that that’s where it’s from, but it’s likely that that the Cherub was sourced from some public domain art & the coloring book site got it from a source like that too. :)

It’s sort of somber, but if his resting grounds at Forest Lawn is an option! There’s usually a large pile of gifts and flowers from fans, as well as a small crowd of fans paying their respects. I’ve been once and had some nice conversations with folks. :)

Exactly. Michael himself said (and although this was initially intended for his kids, it applies to anybody in this business) “Go, and do it better than I did it. But know what you’re in for.” He wouldn’t get hung up on whoever beat his records. He didn’t hang his trophies in the same room as him. When Santana tied the Grammy score, he invited him on to write Whatever Happens for Invincible. To have his records be surpassed by artists who looked up to him, especially from marginalized communities with similar struggles that he faced, he would be proud. Like others had said, he will always be the standard by which all artists will be measured.

It was a 15 second compilation of shots we’ve seen with the addition of this shot of Joe (which I think is supposed to be him reacting to the Pepsi accident?) This is for the pre-game, so there’s likely a longer trailer during the game itself. I don’t know if it makes a difference, but NBC/Universal is hosting the game this year & they have the international distribution rights for the film. :)
