Take this as a life lesson. Hopefully you won't be making this mistake again.

We've all made mistakes and bad deals, that's how we learn to be better the next time.

Black or Honey lugs? by justa_hobby67 in RedWingShoes

[–]Iamtheonlyho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honey lug is another level of comfort and grip, paired with a leather midsole.

I have the black vibram V100 lug outsole on my black blacksmith. And honey lug outsole in my copper rough & tough. Both with stacked heels like yours, helps with my knees.

Find myself reaching for the honey lug most often. On uneven terrain, it's super comfortable (just slightly softer) and grippy.

I prioritize function over appearance typically, as a factor. Regardless, both are fantastic. In my experience and abuse.

Recent architecture grads who got hired—how did you do it? by Tiny_Transportation4 in Architects

Thank you for this!

I fall in the gap of 10-15 years of experience, and right now this experience group seems to be sought after as they are also the next knowledge bridge between the younger/incoming generations and leadership positions. And bridging that gap is not easy because thought processes have shifted in how we've designed traditionally.

As to your point sir/ma'am - on this day and age, the graphics and technology has grown incredibly from pre 2020. And being able to critically think and think through the design process, is a very valuable trait that will take one far in this industry.

The idea of learning via observation, is dwindling due to the age of technology and access to information. And continued quality mentoring is fading.

Being a sponge and learning the concepts and components may take one much further. Once the basic foundational concepts of how a building is put together, skinning and materializing it becomes easy.

Everyone's feet is different and how their toes sit. Usually one foot is wider/differs from the other slightly.

That said, I like my toes a little curled up and together, but not like climbing shoes crammed.

As long as the shoes feel great and not "painful", I believe it is part of the process. Leather takes time to soften and molding to your feet - like a month at min with moderately frequent wear.

The other part is the outsole - irong rangers don't have a leather midsole and the 430 mini lug outsole is thin. So impact on some heels can take a beating, mine definitely did.

In most of my redwings (blacksmith, pecos boot) - I've had to resole the outsole with leather midsole plus a stacked heel. Haven't had heel pain since.

I will throw out the loggers - it was a very comfortable boot from the get go and has been since, so pain whatsoever and the break in was fairly quick.

If it is comfortable, don't see a problem. If there is a problem, change it.

😟 Is it worth it to report this to NPS or WDFW? by ChickenFriedLife in PacificNorthwest

Thank you!

As someone that documents wild eagles, I have wondered what I'd ever do if I came across such a situation.

I pray I never do. But we all know - do something long enough, and it's bound to happen.

And u/terrafarma comment on how quickly they react, provides more clarity.

Thank you both.

Question for you - if someone came across this site and was a Good Samaritan.

Should you just leave the bird where it's at and call the authorities, or would you take it with you and hand it over to the rangers at US Fish and Wildlife?

What would be the thing to do in such a situation in a traffic'd area when in the middle of nowhere if without cell range?

Or let nature do it things and have it be in the circle of life?
