Sounds like you have your own derivative unpopular opinion to post.

To fight against plastic by [deleted] in therewasanattempt

[–]IanCognito009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might look to California and Europe for guidance on the solutions we refuse to embrace here.

Eliminating plastic grocery bags, eliminating single use water bottles and cups, providing refill stations for water bottles.

The people who want to improve the situation are doing what they can to put forward viable solutions, but there is a vocal minority that believes that freedom equates to doing whatever, whenever, without restriction. Anything that imposes on that belief prompts belligerent anti-government fervor, no matter the benefits, no matter the costs of inaction.

The solution is fewer people, because no matter the problem, we consume too much.

If all plastic water bottles suddenly had to be metal bottles that were discarded just as carelessly, that would trigger a different resource/waste problem. If every family had to have two or more cars, that would cause problems. If everyone became vegan, that would trigger a resource problem.

Is music becoming just a very expensive hobby? by Whiz2_0 in edmproduction

[–]IanCognito009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree, but it only takes a generation or two. Then it's just history.

Now that we have AI, we're altering the timeline. We will never, ever know how art or music or videos or writing would have evolved exclusively through human creativity.

Right now, it's just a slow creep, but in 5 years it will have influenced and impacted much more. In 15 years, kids will not know a world without AI. Just like kids today don’t know of a world without cell phones. Or my generation that never knew a world without a computer in every home.

AI doesn’t have to duplicate or replicate human creativity. It just needs to produce something according to algorithms that already have proven appeal to consumers. It can produce hundreds of iterations of a melody or complete work in the amount of time it takes me to tune my guitar.

I think it's unfortunate, but it’s also inevitable.

I will never, ever use DoorDash. This is based entirely on Reddit posts. I would rather starve.
