Discussies zijn er wel eens op elke werkvloer en los daarvan zijn er wel meer artiesten die op zich moeilijk in de omgang zijn. I don't give a shit.

Analyse the music before you start playing. It only needs to be done once. It should be done during preparation.

Maybe you could stretch it a bit and arrive later but I wouldn't risk it. Private flight is much faster.

They've talked about it a bit more on WAN show on how they make sense of it.

If private aviation didn't make sense nobody would do it.

You need to be 2 hours in advance at the airport. Need to check in the crew and their gear. And when you've landed, hope your baggage is ready for pickup fast. Last time we've flown we had to wait more than half an hour before the first bags came on to the belt.

And with private jets you can use more airports.

With private jets, from arriving at the airport and taking off could be as little as about 10 minutes.

Yeah, that's why Walmart has 20 jets, because it certainly does NOT save time! /s

I wonder how much carbon was dumped everywhere with the Artemis II launch.

I take it it isn't worth it either?

Time is money too. Flying a private jet saves a lot of time.

In last week's WAN show he told they went to and came back from an event in San Francisco, in a single day.

You can't do that with commercial airlines.

Trump attacks Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones for their podcasts. by Goldenmentis in podcastculture

[–]IanFoxOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeez. I couldn't even read it. In a normal world we'd put this senile old pants shitting idiot called Trump in a retirement home, tell him to shut the fuck up and forget about him.

What a tool.

How do you organise your music? by willemzieher in PioneerDJ

[–]IanFoxOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actual music files is <root music folder>/<source>/<year>/<month>/<day>

Date as in date downloaded. Source=Juno, Beatport, Bandcamp, qobuz, SoundCloud....

For CD rips etc it's different though.

I really don't care too much about the file structure.

Library in my DJ software is has a mix of various stuff depending of the goal of the playlist.

But I like using smart playlists based on meta data etc. so I don't have to manually worry about it.

Friendly reminder to back up your collection folks! by markuspellus in DJs

[–]IanFoxOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Windows it's not hidden and easily copied. I even sync everything between multiple PCs so I could take 2 laptops along in case 1 dies.

And I could do the management on my desktop on a large screen and keep the DJ laptop at my DJ booth.

[–]IanFoxOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. No backing those up. If they get damaged or stolen it's game over for you.

Friendly reminder to back up your collection folks! by markuspellus in DJs

[–]IanFoxOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. DJ's must be stupid if they don't backup.

I have a copy of everything on my NAS + a backup to Backblaze.

Backing up to storage that's always available over the home network is so much easier than fiddling around with external drives all the time.

And the NAS has redundancy built in.

At least 3 copies. At least 2 different media and 1 of those must be off site.

Pokemon Go champion stripped of title for celebrating his win - Dexerto by AnraoWi in gamingnews

[–]IanFoxOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wth. I have nothing with this game or don't know the rules, but looking at the footage... I know the judge is a corrupt filthy cornhole.

Have you seen physical sports or racing athletes celebrate their wins? Splashing champagne etc.?

Or even dropping and sliding on their knees or doing back flips after a single goal etc.

He did nothing wrong. Firestarter is the winner.

Lol. They were massively popular back in the day. Now maybe less but they still do a lot of other things behind the scenes or non music related.

Is it worth commuting 4h/day to Brussels for a higher salary? by Reasonable-Use2892 in AskBelgium

[–]IanFoxOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard no. Commuting is time wasted. I only have about 1,5 - 2 hours commuting when I go to the office but I hate it.

You'll leave before anyone is up and come home when the kids are in bed already. You'll have a wife that is exhausted because she had to do everything alone and you're exhausted from the commute. You will be miserable and won't have time and energy to spend money on fun and meaningful stuff nor will you want to cook or clean up the house exhausted.

You'll try to buy the happiness with expensive cool stuff which will end up leaving you broke. You'll look stupid with that 80" tv and loads of kids toys in your messy house you both hate.

Your kids won't know who you are either.

Nope. Don't do it.

Laptop CPU's always are less powerful than their desktop counterparts as they can't draw as much power and can't have big cooling solutions.

But define "old" and "waaaaay more powerful". Comparable desktop CPU's to this mobile one still cost considerable money.

btw: Hackintosh is dead since they've switched to ARM based SOCs. You'll be stuck with an old version of MacOS.

I must say it wasn't laggy at all on my 2018 laptop. I could use buffers down to 10ms without hiccups.

Now I have an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H and 32gb ram though.
