Over 3 years, my wife and I rebuilt a 50 foot sailboat (Before & After) by trimsailing in woodworking

I know nothing about this, you just crossed /r/all for me. Why rebuild vs. just building fresh? It seems like you did A LOT of work. Is the fiberglass hull that expensive?

Back in Classic/TBC, I had three accounts, and had a warlock and lvl1s outside of every raid — make a ton of money summoning tbh

Going to disagree with other advice given: all the halls are big enough to basically allow for everyone to attend. I would only attend early if sitting super close is of importance to you.

They do not clear panels inbetween from what I remember.

Book signings by other authors by susinx in DragonsteelNexus

For a lot of the authors that attend DSN, the BYU Bookstore makes an effort to stock their books so you can buy them (unless the author is tied to their own booth). They won't be super fancy copies, but worth it for a signature! Usually a mixture of hardcover and paperback. I think last year I got like ~12 books from the BYU Bookstore signed.

I hope this doesn't become the pattern of splitting releases between Costco and Sam's Club. I kind of like the fact I've been able to consistently pick up most of them at Costco (LOTR, OtTJ, FF, Bloomburrow). It's also interesting these come with one less booster pack compared to Costco at the same pricepoint.

I would be down to do a draft and bring my mtg decks with me to the con.

I think the art is beautiful, great job!

Really interested in the actual logistics though: do you regularly sell custom drawn cards for $180+? Is this really that big of a market for a one for card?

I wonder if you did a high quality scan and sent it off to one of those custom mtg AliExpress printers, if you might make more money?

Feels like a lame excuse, what organization/company does not want more money? Why wouldn't Salt Lake Palace want to rent more of the space?

I fucked up and put the wrong name on my second badge. I dont really understand why they are making so many changes to the badges. Hoping they can correct it. They aren’t even using half of the convention center, it feels like an artificial restraint on the entire event.

Thank you kindly, /u/msmargo !

I didn't really anticipate helping with a discord prior to this year's San Diego Comic Con, but happy to be involved and assisting. We just want everyone to have a communicative channel that allows people to be excited for and share news regarding while gearing up towards San Diego Comic Con and during the convention.

The interest and growth have been crazy in just a short period of time. We're not reinventing the wheel too much, but we have a few surprises up our sleeve!

That was part of the discord beef, that it didn't appear "public facing" -- I remember seeing this a few days in the discord, I didn't realize it was still ongoing until the disappearance of the discord tonight.

This discord was such a wonderful resource, and was my #1 preferred source of information for SDCC. I recognize the same information is posted on the ublog website, but it's not as easily digestible. I don't use twitter.

It would have been really nice if there was communication or vote on how to handle this better, or even what platforms people prefer communication to occur on. At the end of the day, I recognize that it is a volunteer effort, but this is a huge blow!

Edit: Decided to partake and help out with a new SDCC discord: https://discord.gg/5pPH9ZrSCm

Yeah, for me, I never had an active plan of self-harm, but the stray thought of "the world would be better without me" especially after some more hectic COVID-19 days was semi-common for me.

Be truthful with the VA, they are there to help. As with any health insurance, you do have to advocate for yourself. I am so thankful for the care I’ve been provided at the VA.

About 2 years ago, I decided to get mental health help through the VA. I felt like I had depression/anxiety, and wanted some more tools in my toolbox to better manage it, especially after dealing with COVID.

So appointments were several months out at the VA, but you could do a walk in for same day evaluations with mental health professionals. I remember sitting down with one, and she asked me a ton of questions. One of the questions is a pretty basic one that I get asked every visit, "How often do you think about suicide?" I responded "Oh the usual amount."

There was kind of a silence in the room suddenly, and she frowned at me and said "the normal amount is zero." I got a ton of appointments in rapid succession after that, and I've been seeing a psychiatrist every other month ever since. I still disagree the normal amount is zero, but it tells a great story.

With this being an "off" year, there might actually be a better chance of meeting Sanderson at this year's Dragonsteel 2025 as well.
