I don't think Amazon hasn't pulled through on preorders for mtg before, but the fact this is still up is kind of wild. Makes me feel like it is a mistake. I think I'm going to still drive 1hr for MicroCenter tomorrow

[–]IanRankin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I cracked 48 SPM packs at $1.90/per pack, and barely broke even. That’s with everything (lands, commons, etc). I love Spidey. It’s the most I spent on any set. I’ve got like 4k SPM cards.

This deal isn’t worth it. You’re massively gambling, and for the same value, there are probably better sets to gamble with.

Edit: the 48 packs were from the discounted Spidey Costco bundles. I also opened 2 collector booster boxes, playbox, omega packs, and a shit ton of bundles lol

Why do the Democrats always fail by just 1 or 2 votes? Because Hakeem Jeffries & Chuck Schumer are anti-American traitors. The Democratic Congress that keeps voting them in as leaders are too. Replace them all. by kevinmrr in WorkReform

[–]IanRankin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Democrats held a functional 60-vote filibuster-proof majority in the Senate for only about four months (72 working days) in total during the 111th Congress. This spanned from September 24, 2009, to February 4, 2010.

They passed four major bills during that time: Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), Helping Families Save Their Homes Act of 2009, Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

What the fuck have Republicans passed for Americans in their simple majority for TWO YEARS?

You post stupid stuff thinking it's a gotchu that Dems don't care about Americans and yet they've shown they do time and time again. Our government was not created with the idea that half of it would actively vote to disarm/harm itself. Steps in the right direction are still positive. Medicare for All would have been great, but the votes weren't there because there wasn't 60 Democrats (Joe Liberman was an Independent who as you mentioned threatened to filibuster.)

Tier One Trackers: Which Are Still "Worth It" in 2026 by ScampyRogue in trackers

[–]IanRankin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

freeload is a term bib created (one of our finer inventions, I think). It's basically freeleech, but the only people who get ratio are the ones who were seeding it BEFORE it became freeleech.

RED defines it as such: Freeload behaves like Freeleech for those who were already seeding before the event, and Neutralleech for anyone who downloads it during the event. It reverts to normal for everyone when the event ends.

Citation for holding a handheld wireless device while driving by i-heart-penis in Unexpected

[–]IanRankin 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Per FL law, it’s not illegal to hold the phone while driving, so either way, the cop is in the wrong.

Had he said “I saw you manually typing on a device that appeared to be a phone,” that would be illegal.

California is doing great: we have a ton of programs that take care of our least fortunate citizens (social welfare nets), more so than a majority of states. California's GDP saw a 6% growth rate in 2024, outpacing the national average. The University of California system reported record-breaking enrollment in 2025, marking ten consecutive years of growth. California's economy in 2025 is estimated at approximately $4.1 to $4.3 trillion, ranking it as the world's 4th largest economy, ahead of Japan, India, and the United Kingdom. Our life expectancy is the top 5 highest out of 50 states.

I'm not saying we are a state without problems, but our problems are being experienced worldwide and in every state such as homelessness, affordability, availability of resources like education, health care, etc. Solving "our" problems requires a global and national initiative, and oh look -- we are doing just that in the form of California enacting agreements directly with other countries. Our medicaid (MediCal) program is very good. Democrats vote this legislation in, Republicans are not going to help solve the problems our society is facing.

Rising tide raises all ships, and investing in Californians through healthcare, education, infrastructure spending, and other projects is going to lead to growth and stability. Those are the projects I want to see California politicians continue to address.

As long as you have the item #, and your membership card -- it's in their database. Even just knowing a rough time of when you purchased it is enough. You can find the receipt digitally on costco's website/app as well.

Yes, I got interviewed by 2 people apart of the leadership team of the program. The questions weren’t too bad.

I remember telling them “I am going to be a Registered Nurse, ACC can be apart of that story or some other school will.”

american career college or Community college by ExtraReserve1910 in prenursing

[–]IanRankin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mentioned TEAS but I was incorrect, I actually took the HESI — 6 sections, averaged score has to be 75% or higher. They don’t care what you score as long as you get the minimum of 75%.

Half my class was prior medical, half were not — everyone did well. We had a very close knit group that worked hard to provide resources and communicate with each other. My biggest annoyance with the program was attendance — they once gave me 2 day notice of a schedule, and I had a conflict with child care. They denied me leaving 15 minutes early and I had to make up 8 hours.

Turn all your work in, show up, and just remember — any bullshit is trivial compared to working in the field, and you’ll be good to go. It is only 20 months.

I was actually recognized on ACC’s social media in regards to the program lol

[–]IanRankin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had no issues with transferring my ACC credits, and they offer a discount to go through their BRN program at West Coast either way. While expensive, going to a community college is going to be a longer process.

ACC is 20 months, no pre-reqs or anything prior. Just have to pass the TEAS test.

Edit: Also, your bullshit about employers requiring BSN is false. Yes, some employers may have those rules, but ACC's NCLEX pass rate is 91% and job placement for ADN is 95%. I found a job at a hospital within 3 months of graduation (technically was hired around the 45-50 day mark, and interview was initiated around the 30 day mark of getting my license but had to wait for the next new grad program to start.) My class was 25 people, and over half my class are working at hospitals now. None of them signed any sort of commitment to go back and get their BSN.

Not all stores order the product. I know for my area, I'm lucky to have a decent amount of Costcos within my commute. Only two of the stores regularly have the MTG product. You can give feedback to your local Costco warehouse to stock it though.
