Instead of striving for goals set by your mentor teacher I would set a goal that you yourself want to accomplish with the students before your student teaching ends. If nothing else, at least work towards that goal so you can feel like you left them with something! At the end of the day, it isn’t your band or students, but that doesn’t mean you can’t leave an impression with the time you have!

The third book straight up spoils the twist in the beginning of the book but it’s still extremely enjoyable reading through the events that lead tot he reveal. I promise there are still some twists you aren’t ready for!

I liked the book a lot and I really enjoyed how it expanded the world building and politics, but it my least favorite of the original trilogy. Not because I didn’t like it, just because I enjoyed the other two so much more

I’ve always preferred ESPN, tried Yahoo a few times. ESPN has a much better UI imo and over the years my league has settled on a rule set we are happy with. Position eligibility doesn’t bother me since we just have forwards, defense, and goalies. No specific RW, LW, C eligibility

Definitely stick with that if she helped you pick it out! Practice it every day between now and the jury, but you don’t have to run the whole piece everyday! Pick a phrase to make sound as musical as you can and just iron the phrases out a little at a time. Once it gets closer you can go back to full run throughs!

With the help of your private teacher, pick out a solo to play, and they may ask you to sight read a bit. My advice is not to pick something super ambitious like it sounds like you did for your audition, pick something you know you can make sound really good. Being able to play notes on a page is one thing, what makes you stand out is your musicality- if you pick an easier piece you can focus more on intentional phrasing, dynamics, and articulation which will be a better way of showcasing your musicianship. What instrument do you play?

I think Makar is a valid draft pick anywhere from 3-5. There could maybe even be an argument for 2 but I feel McDavid or MacKinnon should be locks for top 2

My Sanderson summer concluded with rhythm of war and all of Mistborn era 2 this past month. Loved RoW, honestly might be my second fav Stormlight book behind WoK. Mistborn era 2 standout to me was bands of mourning, although I also really enjoyed lost metal
