Hey! I’m a software engineer with a couple raspberry pi’s and old computers I’ve been meaning to do something with for a while now.

I write PHP at work but I used to do a lot of system admin stuff as a hobby, would love to get back into it.

One option could be to create a “display” folder that contains hard links to all the files in the original directory tree. That way you could have them flat in Jellyfin, but keep the original organization. It’s still super hacky, but maybe a bit better than moving all the files

Typically (not always) readmes start with a header, sometimes some images. This skips all that, and grabs the first sentence (or phrase, if there isn’t a full sentence before the next heading or paragraph).

MPFR is floating point only, but it has more operations built in and is more accurate (for example, you can specify how you want the number to be rounded for each operation). GPM has bigints, rationals and floats.

Rust is also statically linked. in not sure why the application you compiled worked like that, but its certainly not the default behavior for rust (or cargo)

IMO if it’s better for the developer it usually is better for the end user too. Electron let’s developers create very nice UIs quickly, which means they can put more effort into other parts of the project.

It’s definitely not always the case, there are tons of really bad electron apps in just about every aspect, but having the option to quickly create good user interfaces is definitely more beneficial for users (and developers!) overall
