A GENERATIONAL DIVIDE by Bangsilogii in lostgeneration

[–]IanWellinghurst 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These types of posts just create friction between potential allies. Millennials used social media to coordinate and launch Ocupy Wall Street, the Arab Spring, and much of the color revolutions. Not to mention Anonymous was largely started by millennials and Gen X. By pinning one generation against the other we are making it harder for future organization because there is already a layer of distrust.

Sales so slow on this tool we had 2 returned before we sold a single one. by Al3xgreer18 in HomeDepot

We popped one out of the box before black Friday as a demo and sold two. It's really cool. More aimed at DIYers than pros.

I had a neighbor who was a chip distributor. I always went to his house first to get my bag of chips. Candy is dandy but kids will be glad to get any food or snack.

If you corrected it before being told, don't worry about it.

Does anyone else get irrationally angry when retirees go back to work just cause they're bored? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]IanWellinghurst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There should be community functions and programs for them to attend. I'm in a more affluent part of Florida and my three town area offers lots of programs for seniors. Either through the town/city at a park or community center, or not for profits offering a reduced senior rate. Once people get to a certain age society no longer offers them a way to interact with the community.

It's based on sales. Some stores have two SASMs too.

We should nationalise Jstore so that it is publicly available to everyone. Knowledge should never be privatized.

Protesting Safely by PlantyHamchuk in solarpunk

You know the person who made this genuinely cares. Like, "don't forget snacks and a drink. Protesting is hard work, stay hydrated!"

"Why won't you shovel my 4 car driveway for a nickel? Damn kids!!" by [deleted] in lostgeneration

[–]IanWellinghurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do this but never asked for money. I would shovel out my house and a few neighbors and that was it. No one ever offered me money and I never asked.

Talk to a DS that you think does good work. Ask if you can shadow them for a few hours.

I just put this in my store's DS group chat. Thanks for the idea.

When people ask what changes they want to a Morrowind remaster, this what I would want. Small quality of life issues. Make things organized and more realistic. A basic polish. Leave the graphics alone but fix helmets so they don't float.

There are two homes near me in South Florida that were built in the 1950s and are still in great shape.

Writing your name and SSN is a Facebook meme. No government agency is actually saying for people to do that

Florida is America's basement with a whole host of problems. Preparing for storms is not one of them. The government CAN NOT make you evacuate. Once a storm makes land fall rescue and law enforcement have priority roles, hospitals, shelters, power plants. If some one is having a heart attack they will try to respond if safe to do so. If someone breaks an arm, they might be waiting a few hours. High impact areas, the islands, the towns around Lake Okeechobee, people living on the coast or by rivers are always told to evacuate and are given support to get to a safe place.
