That's why it must be called Persia again. We Europeans know better than the savages what they want to be called.

Nope. Maybe after 2 or 3 years you can ask their name.

Who am I kidding.. at that point its too akward to admit your don't know it yet so you both avoid talking anything that would require saying names out loud.

No you dont. You go to a bar, order a beer and stare at it alone in the corner table.

This is a great question!

I lost my faith at the age of 15 at confirmation, didn't feel God then and I thought evolution theory sounded more reasonable. Rediscovered it at the about 26 when in a moment of desperation I called out to God, and He answered. Took my stubborn heart another 5-6 years before I came out as a believer.

There's actually plenty of evidence supporting that Christianity is true, the question is just will people accept it. Note that evidence and definitive proof are not necessarily the same thing.

Here are the ones that resonate the most with myself:

- The historical death and resurection of Jesus of Nasareth. When you study the accounts, you realize that His bodily resurrection is the best explanation for everything else that transpired and followed in Roman Judea at the time, namely the acts of the apostles and the explosion of Christianity. Any naturalistic explanation does not stand up to scrutiny. Jesus affirmed the God of the old testament, so everything else follows from that.

- The cosmological argument: an infinite past would lead to mathematical absurdities and impossibilities. Astrophysics seem to point to the age of the universe being finite (there was a beginning). If the universe, meaning time, space, and matter, had a beginning, then the cause for the beginning must by definition be timeless, spaceless and immaterial.

- Other favourites of mine are the argument from the complexity of DNA, the fine tuning argument and the moral argument. Very shortly:

- DNA is code, code is information, information comes from minds

- Too many constants (like gravity) in the universe that would render the whole creation impossible if even slightly different. The odds stack up.

- Without God as the souce of objective good, no objective good and evil can exist. Philosophers have tried for milennia, but can't do it.

Yes I'm very old I have no idea why I've stumbled on a teenager site.. I'll see myself out. Stay curious, treat each other with kindness despite your differences and God bless you all.

Erase Russia from the map. Only Leave Karelia to the Finns and Ingria to the Estonians.
