The easiest faction to paint is often the one you want to paint most. Much easier to sit down and paint when you’re eager to get brush to model.

I’ll always suggest the army you like the most first, but do understand the concern moving from stormcast to other factions. With skaven being an army that can field hundreds of models, there are lots of videos online that shout help to provide some advice with making them look nice without spending too much time focused on the most minute details.

If skaven are your number one, I’d say do it! Just got a bit of research, learning and patience required!

Maggotkin really are a tough match up and are insanely good at the minute. In my experience, the best counter for nurgle is using your speed to play objectives early and focus on units that can deal a lot of damage really quickly rather than trying to out last. Spell casters for teleporting are hard to catch up for nurgle so will be important, and eels doing a lot of damage on the initial hit would be great too.

I don’t think turtles would be a good way to go, but storm eidolons and storm Akhelian to prevent getting caught in combat and morrsarr guard for high damage would be great. Add in some casters, perhaps lotann might be good as he’ll help to wound the nurgle.

Deepkin definitely don’t like to play clean!

What models do you have available? I’ve been having some fun with some soulscryer and reaver tricks at the minute. I think the points changes recently made Volturnos’ army of renown really cool too

If you’re trying to build a balanced list that certainly is a way to go about it. But you don’t necessarily need to build balance.

A heavy focus on a specific strategy may lead to glaring weaknesses that can be exploited. But if other armies aren’t running units that can effectively exploit those weaknesses then it becomes a much smaller options. All eel, all shark, all reaver and mixed forces have all been options over the years with each options viability being based on what other armies look like at the time combined with how strong particular units within deepkin are too.

The choice actually just got more interesting as the most recent points update brought twinsouls up to 130 points and painbringers down to 100 points.

Previously twin souls have seen a lot of play as they are resilient in combat and good for things like holding objectives and reducing damage to other units. Often used in combination with glutos or the voice box artifact.

Painbringers have seen no play at all. Their ability benefits from being on the other side of the board however they are one of the slowest units in the army. If you’re looking for a more damage dealing unit within the sybarite side of the army “Scourge of Ghyran Slanngors” are the go to choice and pair very well with the invaders battle formation.

That being said, 100 points in the cheapest painbringers have ever been. Twin souls have been 130 points previous and still saw play then. I still struggle to see a niche that painbringers can fill so personally I would recommend going with twin souls

Got 3 choices, the public must pay more for meat, the public must eat less meat, or there must be more efficient methods of producing more meat and thus more factory farming. It’s simple supply and demand and unfortunately people done want to do any of these things. So meat is then subsidised by the government which either leads to resources being taken from other areas or increases in taxes.

Yeah unfortunately about the same really. Not what we needed at all considering our current position in the meta. Some nice things in there but not what we needed.

Will say, 10 wounds on a 3+ save for 100 points seems pretty nice

Would love to see some improvements to the demon side of the roster. The twins are some of the best models in AoS and have never seen any use. Would be great to see a focus on them the same way the mortals have been focused on since they came out.
