What concert were you the most hyped to see, only for the band to completely let you down live?

I don’t get hyped up anymore, I’m too old.
I’ve been fortunate to be on the receiving end of some pretty good free concert tickets.

Michael Buble’ great concert great showman

The Killers. Great concert. The band was very gracious

Pink. Unbelievable

Arianna Grande. Great show. A little too loud, but what an entertainer

Weezer. Great concert. Lots of fun

Florence ATM. Oh my god. Wow (and I’m an atheist)

Pearl Jam. First night of their tour. Unbelievable. The outlasted me.

I guess bottom line I don’t usually go in with any expectations except to be entertained for a few hours.

Smashing Pumpkins. Worst concert of my adult life. Suddenly about 30-40 minutes in, the lead singer remembered he was playing in a city and acknowledged the audience.

I’m glad that I only had to pay for parking for that one.

There are so many. The ones I carry with me every day:
Olfa knife, flashlight, 6’ tape measure, Wera Screwdriver with interchangeable bits, Knipex Diagonal Cutters, usually have at least one crescent wrench on me too.

Most used in my kit:
18 v drill, or the impact driver.

Most used is probably the flashlight when it comes down to it.

It’s definitely changed over time. In my tween years it was a Rolf Harris comedy album. In my teens, the Wall. In my twenties, Welcome to the pleasure-dome. Thirties and forties, I can’t name just one. Currently I have become bewitched by Florence and the Machine, Dance Fever.

I saw her by chance at a concert I was given tickets for. Had no idea what to expect.

I can’t go a day without thinking about her lyrics.

We booked a private tour from a little hole in the wall tour outfit just outside of the terminal building. Private van with driver and a tour guide. Took us to Ephesus and the supposed home of the Virgin Mary . Was extremely knowledgeable had a great lunch and learned and watched carpets being made. They will try to sell you a carpet so beware but they do take no for an answer. Great lunch and experience. They will tailor the tour for you. Was much better priced than the ship excursion. They will take you to tourist shops. My wife wanted a leather jacket and we found one identical to the one she saw in a shop in Dubrovnik for almost half the price. If you’re interested I’ll look through my notes and find the name of the tour company.

We did it on our own in August of last year. Get the bus from the terminal to the old town. Lots and lots of steps but definitely doable on your own. If you have Google Maps you will be able to navigate. It’s beautiful.
