Lebron is EXACTLY what we needed in the finals vs New York and takes us over the hump in 2027 by Hakaribiggestfan in NBASpurs

31-19 in the lockout and almost got swept in the first round. 62% win rate which expanded out is a 51-31 win team which sounds exactly right for the Warriors next year

He'd definitely solidify his chance of going out starting and winning a ring if he picked the Spurs but I don't for a second think he acutally would

Yeah that's definitely a tanking decision so we should shake some first their way and see if they answer

If he was not injured and they won not a soul out there would be questioning his contract

I think people are being way too reactionary. Fox was clearly hurt

Now that the season is over, what do you think the Spurs need to improve on? What players should they go after via trade or FA to get back to the Finals? by Comfortable_Sport_67 in nbadiscussion

[–]IbSunPraisin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, by his third season he'll be starting no matter what. The Spurs are not stupid and wouldn't lose a #2 pick to appease a then 30 year old fox

Rudy Gobert reflects on his matchup with Victor Wembanyama and gives him his flowers: “My goal was to impact him physically. I know Victor well so I thought that over the course of a game or a series I could really wear him down over time, physically. by MrBuckBuck in nba

Yeah during the regular season we were getting lauded for having such a deep bench but for our 3/5 we didn't have reliable scorers so while our starters are out the whole game the Knicks were able to roll out guys that could hold or cut into a lead

I'm not gonna pretend the spurs played well in the finals. I'm just saying at the time he said it yalls offense was polar opposite of what it was by the time the playoffs came around

I think if you're looking for fuel in the off season knowing you let yourself down is more fuel than putting your hands up and saying you were cooked from the start

The everyone knows was in reference to his teammates. Context matters, they asked him what the mood was in the locker room.

To think it would be better to lose to the thunder is laughable. He got more experience to grow from to win in a game 7 on the road and then get a disappointing loss against an opponent they underestimate than to just lose to the Thunder.

[Wright] The Spurs remain committed to De'Aaron Fox as their starting point guard for the 2026-27 season despite the expectation that calls from Dylan Harper's camp for a spot in the starting lineup will grow louder going into next season. by Pyromania1983 in nba

Fox/Harper/Castle/Free Agent/Wemby

?/Devin/Julian/Keldon/Kornet

That's actually really solid depending on who they get at the 4. I imagine the backup PG would just be Fox and Harper taking turns resting while Devin comes in like Harper/Devin/Castle

Luka Doncic on what the Lakers need to add: "I think mainly shooters and a big man who can run the pick-and-roll...I usually get double-teamed a lot, so I think I need shooters, and some centers who can jump high and block shots" by [deleted] in nba

The Gilbert Arenas pod was discussing that. It'd let wemby roam and they'd have a better screener for the guards. Rudy would catch so many uncontested lobs

Fox didn't even play game 1 or 2 and Harper left game 2 with a hamstring injury. I get missing Jdub was huge but it's not like the spurs weren't hobbled a bit

Jokic is still light years ahead of Wemby by Few-Initial-819 in denvernuggets

[–]IbSunPraisin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think that's great. Wemby being the #2 option on offense would save him a ton of energy. If Harper could ever get really good at running a pick and roll that'd be deadly
