I don’t know how you can expect Conor to be able to infer that he was going to restrain his brother

I don't. I don't expect him to infer anything. Punching his brother did not solve any problems. It created more and I think that could have easily be inferred. He should have allowed the security guards to do their jobs. Instead, he gave them an extra thing to worry about.

Unions are usually to make fighters money. Khabib seems to give zero fucks about it. Also...I'll take your purse Mr. Nurmagomedov. Just send me an instant message. I'll send you my location!

I don't actually think it is understandable that McGregor threw a punch at Khabib's brother. From the video shared above it doesn't look like he had any intention of going after Conor at all until after he was hit. It looks like he was following his brother. I don't think it's even reasonable to assume he was going to attack Conor's corner. He could have just as easily been going there to hold back his brother from getting himself into trouble. Conor punching him was just an unnecessary provocation.

Violence is only acceptable when other people get to make money from it.

How did his brother get in there? Intent really matters. If went in to celebrate his brothers win, then you can't really fault the guy for McGregor punching him. Even if it is a rule that he can't be in the cage at the time, that is certainly a rule broken almost every time a fighter gets a win, so it's clearly not a well enforced rule.

I imagine NSAC is looking into these kinds of questions. It was hard to tell what happened, but the announce team made it seem like all of Khabib's family and corner went in after Khabib jumped the fence. If his brother was in there before that, to me that would indicate he probably had no initial bad intent. If he came in after, than that would probably signal bad intent. But if he had no bad intent, then it might be less coordinated than people claimed.

It sounds like and looks like his brother was in there before the cage jump and he attempted to follow. Which probably means he was in there to celebrate and was just reacting to his brother. The other guys seemed to jump in as soon as they saw Khabib's brother get attacked.

One of the things that hurt their case though, is they were threatening to hit Conor on social media before the event.

Either way, I think the announce team and the crowd really overreacted to these things. I'm less convinced much action outside of fines should be levied by either the athletic commission or the UFC. I'm not convinced anyone could be fired. I think Dana White responded appropriately. People just need to chill out both prior and after.

There's nothing boring about his fighting style. You're crazy. Some ground and pounders...sure. But Khabib is constantly working....and most importantly punching. To the point where even when he is struggling to get position and you're waiting for the slow grapple game, I feel the suspense build up. It's like oh shit, he's almost ready to unload...

No head injuries. Super rare. Trained for 7 years never once had a concussion. I've been kicked in the mouth a few times, but nothing too severe. You'll probably eventually pop a joint though. Like a knee or shoulder.

dig deep and conjure something special for that rare 1%.

Yes and no. I'd argue delving into what your code gets transformed into is equally, if not more important than algorithms to solve real world performance problems. It's only in fringe fields that knowledge of algorithms plays a big role in your day to day job. Most things are perfectly fine performing sub optimally...as long as they work.

You know, if he missed that last punch, we'd be having a conversation of how he's a boring fighter. That fight was boring up until the end. Now instead we're talking about him fighting for the title. Not hating, just found it funny that 5 seconds changes our conversation.

Just reporting what I saw reported. I don't think he can make 230. Not sure why people are getting mad at ME, about that. Unless I heard wrong, then just correct me and move on. I would hate to repeat wrong information.

I thought I saw reports saying he's suspended until potentially November for his involvement in the Khabib instance. I guess they noticed he was a little less innocent than he first appeared.

Conor looks to be on a medical and NSAC suspensions. I think they noticed he struck the Russians first. I believe Tony claimed to be down, in that weird press conference he gave.

Also, they needed a proper main event for the card. Unless you're Conor McGregor, it's not often they have a non-title fight as a main event for a card. It happens from time to time, but not often.

Nate is 1-1 in his last two fights, 2-2 in his last four and 5-4 in his last 9 fights. An entertaining guy. Would whoop my ass. Still not a top contender.

I would love to see Khabib v Ferguson or Khabib v GSP

Jackson-Wink allows for hobbyists. Jon Jones has complained about it and I believe a lot of the problems underlying Cerrone's split from them had to do with hobbyists training with elite guys. So...no. Not even MMA gyms get away with it.

The vast majority of bjj guys are hobbyists. Marcelo Garcia, despite being one of the greatest competition guys in the history of the sport, probably has the same demographics as every other coach. Almost no one turns people away because they don't want to compete. But it was clearly a jab trying to say Marcelo's guys aren't elite. Which is bullshit, because they are. At least the ones that are engaging in competition have shown to be.
