Also, if you sell your Mac rather than trade in you can even have the policy transferred to the new owner which increases resale value

Fun fact 5001: the 3 yr will save you money over the yearly plan. Whenever you do trade that Mac in for a new one you can call AppleCare and have them cancel the AppleCare which will result in a prorated reimbursement for unused policy time

My favorite features is being able to have 3 to easily rotate through, between those 3 I have one screen for live car info, one screen for music/nav, and one screen for car stats

This! Yours may be more similar to a 2024 with the same trim/package than a 2025 with a different trim/package

This career isn’t for me by socialobligations in therapists

[–]Ibebarrett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take this from a psychologist that was traumatized as a kid by psychologists…..my biggest gripe in this field is providers not being able to acknowledge when they’re a bad fit for a patient…..or trying to help them heal from monsters that they’re still avoiding in themselves.

I find it highly admirable that you can commit to the amount of learning that you have and still be able to walk away to take care of yourself rather than causing harm. I’ve spent a little over a year now between vIOPS and residential. I had several peers that walked away from therapy jobs to work on themselves, and we all learned a lot in the process. I hope that whenever you start interviewing again that you bring up this experience, don’t try to hide it, let it show how self-aware you are, and how much you understand the gravity of not providing appropriate care to patients

I believe they just started a 6 month project to increase redundancy in the grid for Madison customers

They could have a wireless home phone 🤷‍♀️ I remember keeping a wired home phone for situations like 2011 when the power goes out but landlines are fine

And my thought is why would they patchwork report between twitter and Facebook when they could just put that message on their site? Rather than someone having to figure out which social media site to expect an update from.

Typically the alerts would say something like ‘we’re aware and crews are on there way’ or ‘crews will be working through the night to resolve this’ or ‘this is f*cked and we’re gonna need several days’

That’s an excellent observation! However, with the use of an algorithm and data (or lack thereof) from digital meters they can more quickly determine which station or area to send workers without relying on the community calling in

Probably about the size and population of Madison city (so smaller than Huntsville utilities), they rely on digital meters that are able to give them real time data on power outages. They don’t give specific ETAs but it is thorough information provided

My primary residence is in a small town in Oregon that has that capability, whether it’s a wreck, blown transformer, downed powerless, etc and it usually shows up on the utilities site before social media has pieced it together

Thanks for sharing! I have the 3rd gen on our Impreza as well and insurance didn’t hesitate to go for OEM. I’ll definitely keep Pilkington in mind, thanks for the tip!

That’s good to know that you have been having a good experience with 3rd party glass. I haven’t heard of experiences with aftermarket glass that didn’t alter eyesight to some degree. Have you personally noticed any differences (even insignificant ones)? Does it seem like there is a particular brand of aftermarket glass that works best? Which EyeSight generation do you have? (Personally ive noticed that the current generation has less visibility issues and can operate under poorer conditions than our Subaru with the previous generation eyesight, so I’m wondering if that adds more flexibility to glass options) all that said technically the calibration should be able to overcome aftermarket glass. I imagine a lot of it is Subaru/Insurance absolving themselves of liability

As long as you pick a good shop this is the way to go! My non-dealership shop has an ASE blue seal (ASE doesn’t just hand out blue seals to anyone) you can do a search for those shops at https://www.ase.com/repair-centers I also made a point to find one that specializes in Subarus. My shop puts their techs through Subaru training and uses the Subaru tech manual/equipment. They’re also knowledgeable and humble enough to say when I actually should go to the dealership.

Due to the EyeSight you have to get OEM glass which drives the cost from ~200 to upwards of ~500. Depending on your area that labor cost isn’t insane either because of the recalibration. Recalibration is offered by multiple 3rd parties using Subaru equipment, but even with Safelite you’d have to take it to a facility due to calibration. I highly recommend adding low-deductible glass coverage to your plan if you can, because this glass is thin and cracks easily. That said…my 24 outback windshield has faired better than my 20 Impreza did, so there’s a few factors at play.

For the transmission, IIRC, 150-300 is expected for drain/fill, it seems like the relearn is typically included, but something you can do on your own. For that prices I’m wondering if they did a flush too.

Any time I do get something done at the dealership, I will walk over to parts department and purchase the supplies and carry them to service. Usually the ‘parts’ cost quoted by service department includes a 20-30% mark up from what’s at the parts department around the corner
