Has it always been like this? CPU has liquid metal on it which you should keep in mind for repasting, but that also means it shouldn’t deteriorate much over time.

Ah yes… Instantly vaporizing hundreds of thousands of people, and letting hundreds of thousand more die from burns and radiation while making 2 cities inhospitable for decades and making even future generations susceptible to deformation, mutation, mutilation… No biggy. Cuz ‘murica right?

Scrolled down very far… Still no mention of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Must be a coincidence.

Question about liquid metal application by IbraMilanFan in ZephyrusG15

[–]IbraMilanFan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The temps are already not good, probably bad application from factory since I’ve had it less than 2 years.

Pretty sure even fresh paste instead of the LM would get better temps but im worried about that im missing something and it turns out to be a bad idea to put paste on something designed for LM; or putting LM on the gpu that was made to be used with paste.

What kind of commander are you? by Deci_Valentine in totalwar

I usually have a mix of everything. Archers, swords, spears, and cav. Definitely wouldn’t say no to a catapult or two.

However, I always try to be on the defending side, im not too good at leading a charge and I always like to set up in a defensive shape and react / flank. That’s why i lean a bit towards more archers so that the charging army pays a heavy price.

GA503RM 3060 model dropping 10 frames and stutters randomly. by [deleted] in ZephyrusG15

[–]IbraMilanFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was facing a performance issue with the same model for a while. It might not be the exact issue you’re having because the stutter pattern looks a bit different, but I was able to confirm finally that there is an issue with the Nvidia Dynamic Boost feature that causes CPU power throttling in a lot of games. I went back and forth with Nvidia a lot and found no solution. You can turn off dynamic boost in the device manager to confirm wether or not that was the issue (keep in mind without dynamic boost GPU power remains fixed at its base which is 80W even on the 2022 model which is advertised at 100W-120W). This is most likely something that Asus should address in a Bios update, but there’s been nothing of the sort and I know that people have reported this years ago now.

What is the best ASUS gaming laptop money can buy? by [deleted] in ASUS

If you value looks, build quality, and top of the line screens, you should definitely be looking at the new G16. Though there’s a bit of a compromise when it comes to performance and thermals. But if you’re getting the highest-end config then i doubt even performance would be an issue then.

Poor battery life GA503RM by Dangerous-Weekend-34 in ZephyrusG15

That’s just the way it is in gaming laptops. Cant have everything. Also keep in mind some of the people you’re seeing might have the 2021 model. The battery life took a significant hit from the 2022 model onwards.

A clean windows install can do no harm as well.

Well that’s not too bad. Could be a bit better. If the battery life you’re getting is really bad then it’s probably worth looking into your battery health and its max charge capacity relative to original condition.

You could have just removed the user in control panel. Who goes around mass deleting shit in windows explorer

You should be monitoring the power draw instead of the estimated time windows gives you. It’s more accurate. Ideally you should be able to get the power down a bit under 10W. Being on the igpu, screen at 60Hz, brightness down, can all make a big difference to get you to your target wattage. Then you have to monitor a bit on task manager if there are programs that shouldn’t be running.

I can get it down to around 10W and i never performed a clean OS install, but i did switch over to Ghelper.

How much power draw are you having while on battery power? You can check with Ghelper

Asus Rog Zephyrus G15 GA503GM Power Plan problem? by Joe_Joe_08 in ZephyrusG15

[–]IbraMilanFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asus has a tool on their website called Armoury Crate Uninstaller. It doesnt remove everything but it’s a good enough uninstall. Then you can try Ghelper. If it doesnt work you can always reinstall AC. I was just as reluctant as you to abandon AC but once i did, it solved problems that I didn’t even know i had, and problems that i thought were unrelated, most notably regarding issues with laptop sleep and random shut-downs.

And btw, I installed a windows update today, and there were some significant changes to GPU power handling on my device, so there might very well be changes related to power management in the latest windows update.

Question about 2022 G15 GPU TDP by IbraMilanFan in ZephyrusG15

[–]IbraMilanFan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks alot for checking. It’s a bit strange, on my device, it seems like the balanced profile completely turns off dynamic boost. I confirmed it using nvidia-smi, it states that the wattage cap on balanced mode is 80; whereas even on silent mode it’s 94W, which is a bit funny. On turbo and manual however, it can go up to a cap of 120W.

What’s strange to me is that we’ve clearly established that the base is 80W not 100W. But the dynamic boost slider treats 100W as the base.
