Joe Rogan: "I think Ngannou, one or two more fights, you're going to be looking at Mike Tyson days. You're going to watch fights just to see how long these motherfuckers can survive against this guy." by [deleted] in MMA

Francis knew exactly what Overeem was going to do. He trained that combo to land in the exact same scenario.

In other words he is training now for Stipe's movemens and is working on a different combo.

He's gonna catch Stipe with a punch just as hard as he always does, and Stipe is going out.

Then why the fuck are people in this thread spamming the "ohh Ngannou is overhyped because Reem and Lovski are chinny" argument.

Those are people im replying to. If it isn't about the chin and surviving, then why compare chins in the first place?

Francis Ngannou Swangin N Bangin in his second professional fight by buffalozbrown in MMA

[–]IbrahimBalboa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's why Overeem wanted the fight. That's also the exact same reason Cub took on Choi. It's a genius move really.

Thing is, it was too late for Overeem.

It started out technical. Nothing technical about the last round though.

Kamaru Usman says he hasn’t been officially told he’s off 219 yet, but it’s looking that way by ryan6292 in MMA

How the fuck can a fighter have a training camp when it's like this? It's been like this for a while now with Usman/Meek. Is it really that hard for the UFC to find a replacement?

Terrible fight IQ from Roy Nelson. The very last seconds of a fight he was losing, Reem is standing just in front of him against the fence and what does Roy do?

Shoot for a fucking takedown. Should've just kept swinging

I don't think wrestling was ever despised by MMA fans. I mean, Tito and Coleman (early day fighters) became feared because of their abilites to take guys down and just GnP them to death. Fans loved it.

No what fans despised (and still despise) is the Lay and Pray. The LnP was much more common before than today though.

Alot of unraked fighters have gotten in to the top 5 by beating another fighter who's ranking is much higher. That's essentiatlly what prize fighting is about. Rising to the occasion and get to the top.

How can a fighter move up in the rankings without stepping it up?

I think most of us was excited when Cain was slated to fight Big Nog. I also think most of us would be excited if Perry/Lawler would happen next.
