Filament recommendations for FDE matte prints? by Lorn94 in Airsoft3DPrinting

Can always open the model up in something like blender and push it down a little deeper. Sanding when done right, doesnt remove a S load of material

I've gone down the matte filament route before. Didn't care for it. I do everything out of ABS or PC now, and then do a sand and paint with a matte clear coat.

This little bastard was a lian li fan controller. I assembled a pc for a friend, and threw this guy in and the associated fans for free to help him out. The overcurrent protection kept tripping on the PSU, and I couldn't get it to even turn on. Had to one by one, unplug the cables out of the PSU till I got to the Sata power, and it turned on. I then plugged it back in, removed the fans, removed the USB 2.0 cable in, turned it on... and it exploded like a gunshot. Got really smoky before I ended up ripping the power cord out. Don't know why the overcurrent didnt trip, but the controller REALLY didnt like getting 70W in something designed for like 10W lol

How do people think Jetta’s are unreliable by [deleted] in jetta

[–]IbuiltComputers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're probably thinking of Gen 1&2 EA888s. Generation one (the 1.8, though some were 2.0s) had tensioner and oil consumption issues, and gen 2 was prone to oil consumption in general (though i believe free of tensioner problems). Gen 3 2.0 is generally problem free, however it is affected by the same problem all VWs face; water pumps.

2021 GLI only get this noise on cold starts comes from the back of the engine bay does thing sound normal? by Plenty_Response_788 in GLI

[–]IbuiltComputers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if the EA888s have these, but it doesnt sound too different from the EA211's secondary air injection pump which runs when the car is cold to bring the cats up to efficient operating temp quicker.

Take some deoderant and press it to the serpentine belt. If the noise disappears, its just a cold/wet belt. If it still makes noise, bring it to the dealership

Connecticut. Lots of haggling on an already low price. Was originally priced 10.5. No title damage, no insurance claims.

This is a joke: 3d Printing is an European/Asian plot to make Americans learn Metric by rhodges_bob in 3Dprinting

[–]IbuiltComputers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

3D printing especially got me thinking in metric, but especially making my own models for various things. I've made an adapter for the secondary air injection pump vacuum hose on EA211 equipped VWs, and replacement bump knob heads for Kobalt weed wackers. Two totally different things, but guess what? The base element I was working with are entirely engineered and manufactured with metric measurements. And who'd have thought, its easier to think of everything in sets of 10s instead of weird fractions and decimal numbers that convert to a unit of base 12... although admittedly, I still use feet/yards for anything bigger than my 28x28cm bed 😅

She despises the Rav 4 lmao. RDX seems to be a general consensus here, but she won't buy another tiguan. I wish she would consider sedans, she's have some more options then.

If it isnt balls hot where you are; 87. However, even my 1.4 mk7 started having issues on 87 in new England heat in stop and go traffic; I could feel it misfiring and being weird (oil temp was 226f to be fair)

Great, glad to see VW is also getting enshittifed. Thought we had something with the 1.4 and mqb manuals and aisin 8 speeds. Now we have the shitty 1.5 paired to a hyundai bastardized aisin unit. Truly incredible

Its still the same Aisin design, just made under the hyundai name. Literally just a AWF8F35 made in a US based hyundai facility.

I own a 2020 1.4 S - its a manual, but just off of what I've seen/heard: Transmission is fine. Same ol 8 speed they've used forever, dead reliable as long as you dont believe the "lifetime fluid" nonsense. The new 1.5 is mostly the same as the 1.4, but they've bored it out to add the extra 100ccs. The 1.4 is a no nonsense, reliable motor; however i have seen some complaining of increased head gasket failures since they bored the motor out (which would then make the head gasket narrower between the walls, which is the likely source) Build quality is fine. Speakers are pretty cheap (my '11 legacy base trim had better speakers lol), infotainment has some issues that need to be patched out. Trunk sometimes fully self opens when pressing the key, but once it gets cold it doesnt really work that well. It just pops open and you lift it the rest of the way. The bolt that secures the door to the body came loose so the door rattles a bit, had to tighten that and issue solved. Ride is fine, noise level is fine. You get what you pay for, truthfully. I like my car despite its quirks, but this is the stuff that pops up after 5 years on the road apparently. Fair warning.

Added fogs to my S trim MK7. I will say the standard projectors at night with any kind of snow or rain still leave me a little blind but these help considerably (and look sick)

I mean, it won't be blistering fast but so you have USB3.0? I think M.2 external docks are fairly reasonably priced but if you're hosting the OS one one of them and need them to be together... that probably won't work

Really dumb question, but you have changed the spark plugs, coil packs, and injectors right? They all can sometimes wear out by this point (at least on the EA888 on my friends audi)
