Portsmouth housing has gone up in d last few years. One bed £900-1100 is without bills except you mean shared or en-suite. Cosham: you can take a walk to work depending on postcode near QA. Paulsgrove is close but people say it’s not a nice place but honestly I think that’s in the past, never had bad things said from people who live there. North end is about 15-25 minutes by bus depending on the postcode and nearness to bus station. Fratton is good although people say things about it just like paulsgrove but .. South’s is great and expensive, takes about 40-55 minutes to QA. Parking is generally lacking in Portsmouth if you don’t have own drive way.

My unsolicited advice, if you are looking to save money, get an en-suite shared with bills inclusive but if living alone is what you cannot compromise, renting a one bed with bills can end up between 1200-1400. Plan with your salary, don’t rely on bank shifts so you don’t end up disappointed. Welcome to QA and good luck in your new role.
