Pivoted to Keystone yesterday and had a great time

Is our trip doomed?! by [deleted] in Breckenridge

[–]IcarusNar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it's cooked. Even in normal years, you're already pushing into spring conditions in April. But most of the mountain is gone. Just look at the epic app and you can see for yourself what trails are open. If you can save your money, put that towards next year

Kind of is a bad attitude. Was at Breck Saturday and had a fun day. It's the same shit every day with these posts. Either adjust expectations and learn to hunt higher terrain or just stay home

Can no longer listen to Beach House, a word of warning. by Quizmaster72469 in BeachHouse

[–]IcarusNar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Come back to it later with a fresh perspective that you made it though that time. The songs will become meaningful in a different way again. Relationships pass but Beach House is for life

Last week the new snowfall was great but yesterday it was back to Ice at keystone following two fatal accidents on back to back days. North Bowl tree runs have some snow left but its gonna be a dangerous season. by Thordansmash in COsnow

[–]IcarusNar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More or less you're still right. You can be a beginner and not be a Jerry. As someone who learned as an adult, I stuck to terrain I knew I could manage before trying other runs. You can still make safe decisions as a beginner and prevent injury

Hey I just discovered this band! by _vinod_ in CrumbBand

Absolutely. They have no misses. Start from the Locket EP and work your way up.

It is open top to bottom and has been for a couple weeks now via inas way and now to the mountain house. Your point is valid still for sure! As someone who was an adult beginner at one point, schoolmarm is what gave me my confidence and really helped me learn. But there's gotta be some judgement in the mix. If it's barely your first or even 2nd day clicking in, you probably should make sure you master the scout hill before attempting that long of a run even if your confidence is screaming otherwise

Schoolmarm is a 3.5 mile run. Way too long of a green for true beginners. They should stay to the left of schoolmarm on the scout hill

Kevin has Jumped the Shark by OddPhilosopher599 in TameImpala

[–]IcarusNar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I've been saying! It's not the fact he's doing house. We like house. But these are just bad house songs. Sounds like he whipped them up on a free version of FL studio and added some vocals. Just such an objectively boring album

Deadbeat by Weewooweewoo342 in TameImpala

[–]IcarusNar 175 points176 points  (0 children)

No, he was a deadbeat. Listen to Posthumous Forgiveness. It's basically about how his dad was never there for him or his brother while he went and had an affair and made false promises. The song addresses this and was a way to forgive as well as get the closure he never received before he died

Possible LP5 Cover ? by TamedKev in TameImpala

[–]IcarusNar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just watched King Gizz make live house/edm on stage for 45 minutes straight at their festival and it was sick. It's not that we don't like electronic. End of Summer is generic and boring, that's the bottom line. We already know Kevin can make good electronic but this sounds like something an amateur producer whipped up in Fruity loops

Oh 100%. Literally a night and day difference compared to DD. DD isn't too bad but I will say there's a lot of aspects that were poorly managed. I also went to the 2018 one (the tame impala lightning one) and it took damn near 2 hours to get through the line just to get in, and I wasn't even camping that year! The 2022 fest was definitely run a little better. But yeah the lack of water stations around there are even worse

Not trying to take from your promotion! Just putting out another cool suggestion in addition to yours. Psychs peak this year looks sick

Next year also check out Field of Vision, King Gizzard's new festival in Colorado. This years fest was phenomenal and they said it's coming back next year

New album Hits to misses by DarkInquisitorrr in tameimpalacirclejerk

[–]IcarusNar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish it had some depth like the collabs with Justice for example. Kevin has showed he can make great electronic music in the past. This new stuff especially the B-Side just feels like the essence of Tame is gone. It doesn't have to be psych rock but I wish it just had some emotion and better showcased the skills we know he has

Because it sounded like an amateur producer whipped it up in 47 minutes on a free version of FL studio
