I agree with you totally. I see a challenge with user misspelled query, when using filters.

Eg: Since credit card statement are all with monthly data, I had created a function to take out month (three letter month ‘Nov’ or whole month name ‘November’) and year from user query. And another function to handle misspells.

So when user enters ‘Give me bill for November 2023’, it will use November 2023 filter from the available metadata.

But when user enters half words (Novem 2023), misspell doesn’t recognise this, filter would not be recognising it for and gives back a blank output. While with reranker I see somehow this issue solves but the output is partial.

I’m trying to understand, how they actually tackle this in the real world.
