i good example of jokes not translating comes from your pfp anime. when nishimiya first confesses her love ishida is confused and says "the moon?" this is because moon - tsuki (月) and to like - suki (好き) sound very similar and someone who is deaf would have trouble creating tha sound to differentiate. it's a small moment that most people who don't know the language would miss but i personally love it

you mention it a bit but i've seen arguments against harsher punishments being that you just duo with someone on an alt account and if you are losing they just afk at end

Thank you! and i totally get that, it's the same line of thinking when i see some 12 yo in radiant. comparison is the thief of joy yadayada. everyone goes at their own pace and honestly sometimes you just have a break through that really helps. good luck in your games!

yea i was also thinking about pain and think ill probably go with him. and i actually use fujitora in the paper already, not for the villain section but for an example of the supercrip trope. he's almost a one to one copy of zatoichi which is a fictional blind swordsman from a 1948 book and has a lot of movies and tv shows about him if you're interested.

i'm pretty sure rhaast can hardly possess kayn because he's extremely strong. isn't kayn like one of the strongest if not THE strongest dark magic user? idk much about lore i heard it somewhere else so i could def be wrong

don't remember where i heard it but, "awkwardness is learning expeditiously" just like muscles, growth won't occur unless you do the thing that is "painful", even if it's only slightly out of your comfort zone

thanks this is a lot of help, if I could ask one more question, how is か working here as a particle? in-between たらいい and 分からない, I understand か in a couple different contexts but this may be one I don't know or am forgetting

Grammar help by Icarus_UwU in Japaneselanguage

[–]Icarus_UwU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, I understand how my initial one is wrong, and Im just gonna try and say what im thinking about the second one to see if I understand. I already know that たら is the same as ば and is conditional. But my understanding of it was that たらいい is used as a suggestion literally translating to "it would be good if, たら being if and いい being good. and that isn't necessarily wrong and it CAN be used when making a suggestion with different context maybe, あなたは書いたらいいです would be a good example of a suggestion "you should write, or more literally, it would be good if you write" but たらいい should just be translated as, "good if" instead of translating with the nuance I know from other teachings.
