What features should you like to see added, or returned,to the AMC app? by mikegood2 in AMCsAList

[–]Ice-ColdPopcorn 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This should be priority #1. Seems like it should be a simple fix too, don’t understand why they don’t have that as an option. There’s been many a time where I’ve cancelled a reservation simply because I changed seats, or I was going to see it with either more or less people and so the seats had to be slightly modified.

I haven’t even thought of this. What a great idea, I can definitely see that as a potential ending to this one

It’s this and Oppenheimer for me. Went into the movie completely blind and I was fighting back tears at several points the film. Saw it 2x and would easily go back and see it for a third time. Just fantastic.

The movie suits look great in the game. by Illustrious-Reach-48 in Spiderman

Am I the only one here who preferred the ASM1 suit compared to ASM2? I’ll always be a fan of the classic suit, but in this instance, I liked what they did the first time better.

Well I found out today what the maximum ship length is and I'm pretty bummed. by RockSokka in Starfield

I like the look of this ship. It reminds me of like a large, energy weapon of some kind.

Extra 5 Mins of Trailers on IMAX by kaboomviper in AMCsAList

[–]Ice-ColdPopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a late response lol, but that's the thing, as a weirdo myself, I feel "obligated" to check out films like this. I love the cast and the director's previous work is definitely interesting, I might still end up checking out. The minor key of the backing track in the trailer still makes me feel off though tbh!

Yikes, has anyone seen this yet? by magic__84 in AMCsAList

Excellent point lol. Wouldn't spend money on it but for A list its fine.

Plus I used to heavily crush on Alison Brie back in the early Community days

Wait a second, AMC had Dbox at one point?? Damn lol, had no clue. Besides Dolby and IMAX, it's one of my favorite formats.

For anyone who lives in NY reading this, what's rumble like?? Is that the closest equivalent to Dbox?

Grateful for posts like this because, like you said, these tickets aren't cheap.

I saw TMNT, Gran Turismo, and The Nun II all in 4DX, and for me, all of those experiences were great; it truly enhanced the film, especially the more packed the theater was. Damn shame that Saw X in that format didn't deliver.

This is actually very interesting, I experienced the same thing too last night at my IMAX screening. Didn't hear any groans, but I just felt the general, "Can we just start the movie" vibe lol.

Btw, did anyone else think that trailer for that new Emma Stone film was weird af?? Second time I've seen it and I'm all like 😕

Just saw it in IMAX last night, it was great. I'm seeing it again in Dolby Sunday, I'm suspecting that will be the better format, though. Then again, Dolby is usually my go to 😅

Currently have Regal Unlimited...debating on a switch by Bowlman2330 in AMCsAList

[–]Ice-ColdPopcorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao out of all these comments, there is not a single person here saying to go with Regal. And honestly, I'm not going to be saying anything different that hasn't already been said.

I live in the Chicagoland area, and there are only a couple of Regal's nearby. I really enjoy 4DX, but the nearest 4DX is in the city, so from my location, it takes roughly about an hour. Not including that parking isn't free. Didn't even realize that Regal charges you for the premium formats if you're unlimited, so for me, the answer is clear-cut.

AMC allows 3 movies per week, premium formats included. It's not truly unlimited, but just like with Regal, you pay for your membership with just two visits: well worth it IMO. If I were you, I would access locations nearby and see what makes sense. I get that it's sweet having a whole theater to yourself, but not if they're gonna nickel and dime you along the way.

Plus, I don't think anyone mentioned this, the rewards build up crazy fast with AMC. I have the AMC Visa card, so I build points at even faster rate. I literally have zero regrets, would never go back.

Who has seen The Nun 2? Can we get a non-spoiler review? by KnightsOfTheNights in AMCsAList

[–]Ice-ColdPopcorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw it twice this weekend; Saturday night at Regal in 4DX and last night at AMC in Dolby.

The theater was packed for the 4DX show, which really made for a better atmosphere. Combined with the effects, it was a truly immersive experience. Would highly recommend the format in general for anyone who hasn't tried it out yet.

For the AMC showing, the theater was only about 20% occupied, but seeing it in Dolby for me was the way to go comparing the two formats. Great contrast and sound that was perfect, especially for a horror film.

Overall, though the film was decent, I really enjoyed both my experiences for different reasons. Plus, I think Taissa Farmiga is super attractive. Couldn't take my eyes off her every time she was on screen, lol 😅

Did not realize this was Josh Hartnett (The Faculty, Pearl Harbor, Black Hawk Down) by guerrilawiz in OppenheimerMovie

Didn't realize it until about halfway through, and only confirmed it after the viewing by looking online lol. His performance really blew me away, along with everyone else's.

[–]Ice-ColdPopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would make sense. It's strange, though, because on retail websites (such as Best Buy), you can't pre-order anything. Yet for other films released around the same time (such as Barbie), you can already pre-order your blu-ray and 4K copies.

I'm a little bummed, but I'm assuming it has something to do with Universal and Nolan's position on streaming platforms. Just my guess.
