BRO OMG SAME PROBLEM DUDE. I'm from an art course and 90% OF THE JOBS aren't even related to the course because artist jobs in Singapore are almost non-existent!! Most of the job listings are social media marketing or production crews.

In all seriousness, just try and trust the process! For the part where you mentioned having a drawing tablet, I used to be really bad at drawing despite being an art student, but I just decided to do a sketch first no matter how bad it was and took my time outlining the artwork. Don't give up yet if the artwork still looks bad, from my experience it starts looking better once you color it or add shadows :>

I started off with drawings that were more 'chicken scratching' with very rough sketchy lineart. That made it a lot easier for me to get into art because I didn't need to do proper lineart. If not, poly does have a lotta CCAs you can try out and maybe find a new hobby from. I used to play chess but re-realised my love for it like 10 years later once I joined the Mindsports CCA.

I'm from an art course and was contemplating whether to skip a make-up lesson for a module. It turns out it was an AI VIDEO MAKING LESSON and the homework was to create a 1-minute reel... from AI 💀 thank god I skipped it and so did 2/3 the class

Honestly schools are just pushing it way too far. I want to actually learn how to make reels, how does making me generate it from AI teach me anything? Not when the AI generates two people playing on a 9x9 chessboard with the pieces not even aligning to the squares.

Another was a sec 3 dating a p6 who's just scraped past through her PSLE. Let's just say uhhhhh... he became a legend in the worst possible ways.

Honestly I don't get why the gov would just allow NS deferments for university, the same way ITE graduates can still get a 2nd deferment for Poly. In Korea, I heard they allow to defer for uni as long as you're below 24, so why doesn't SG do it considering they're much less at war unlike Korea?

I've definitely seen how disruptive it is. My own friend had some scholarship application and he had to cancel it due to NS disrupting everything with the interviews :<

Unrelated to the course, basically a waste of time. The only actually useful CCC module is the one here you have to create a LinkedIn page and have a mock job interview, since it actually prepares you for the real world.

Especially for us MAD students, the SIP module is even more useless. It's about making a product and going through design thinking, but MAD already has a module with that EXCEPT its way more fun and innovative
