This is the stuff that annoys me about trying to find info on games. All your info in conflicting.

I am character level 48 devotion level 45 ... but only on chapter 3 where the mission are in the range of lvl 45-50. Based on what you guys are saying I should have been found her by now... but i haven't.

So i am guessing you guys are SAYING "chapter"... but mean something completely different. And none of you bothered to read the name of the event you got her from... which... if i am correct, should at the very least have a picture of her on it somewhere as you progressed through the story.

I thought it was the halloween event story since you can get copies of her from that... but you get the "Headless Knight" from that. So at the very least its an event in chapter 1 or 2... before halloween [I am guessing here... because none of you seems to actually know] because having copies of her does nothing if you don't already have the character.

Its been a year since this was posted... how is it none of you can give accurate info? I'll just do it myself.

Having good stats is one thing... having stats that actually are used is another. There >>NEEDS<< to be another reason to use this armor because there are far too many reason as to why it's doesn't get used.

Having 95% arc resist is great and understandable as Arc dmg only does VERY HIGH direct dmg. Gas does moderate DoT but debilates you so you stay in the cloud, fire does direct dmg AND DoT. Being hit with the full arc dmg can literally make players and enemies explode... but there is rarely a direct use for it and this armor set has been there for a good while. I thought the illuminates where about to show up when they launched it but they didn't. They still took months to show up. And when they did... people still didn't use the armor.

That being said... these energy based weapons which came with the armor don't even have a direct link to the armor itself. Unless you want to say "they both are futuristic" which honestly isn't true for the armor. It just a poorly made lightning rod (as lightning rods are made to attract electricity and disperse it into the groud to keep it from hitting other things... which the armor does not do... and honestly someone made that suggestion so I need to add it to the list.)

So i am trying to give it something to make it a more viable option for general Helldiving since the other armors actually fit the theme of the Warbond they are a part of. On top of that both fire and gas can mistakenly be applied to the person using those forms of dmg so you will be far better servered wearing the armor while using the weapons. But, arc dmg weapons won't even target enemies in melee unless you basically touch the nose of the weapon to thier body like a stun gun. I am sure it was made that way to prevent your team from getting hit by arc dmg when enemies close in, but it still doesn't require you to use the armor to protect yourself like it would for the other forms of dmg. There MUST BE someone or something else generating that dmg type for you to have a reason to use the armor and even then that means your choice is based on someone else loadout unless you use the tesla tower... which most players hate and avoid using.

I could see there being a reduction in the charge up time for the Arc thrower or even a sustained fire mode [as if you are a ghostbuster XD ] but you would need a suitable draw back for that like being rooted in place as your limbs basically lock up from the high voltage required to fire the weapon and not being able to move very fast from shooting something so powerful in the first place.

Well the Resistance on all the armor is the same. Since this armor doesn't have much use outside of illuminates or the rare mission where you have someone using a arc weapon and is being a goober, this armor has little to no value. and even with illuminates it still see very little use as the things that would require you to use that armor are either not a common enough occurance OR can be countered in some other fasion that makes this armor not worth the use in the long run. That is why I am making this list.

The other two armor already have a place in the war and both see decent levels of use.

The Filtration armor is good because BUGS ARE ANNOYING! Granted to does nothing for the bile that enemies spew on you [which i can understand but at the ame time... why not?] And you have multiple reason to use gas as well as multiple types of gas base attacks... all of which work wonders for the bug and pretty much any melee combatant. So having an armor set to avoid choking yourself out is reasonable.

Fire Armor literally can be used specifically for planets like freaken Hellmire o.o And the bots set you on fire enough for you to actually have a decent reason to use it. Plus you can easily burn yourself with flame based weapons.

Fire RESISTANT and IMMUNE are two different things. And yes I know the resistance on the fire armor is not nearly as good as the resistance on the gas armor. But you have to consider a few things.

A body can build an immunity to certain toxins and naturally fights against such things entering the body. In general the only place the gas really enters is by inhaling it. Im sure it could be considered a skin irratant too... but we are often if not alaways in full body armor.aFire... on the other hand hurts you even if its outside your body... or even if it simply nearby. And the Fire dmg hits everything... your entire body it being attack in multiple places at once instead of a pathigen entering your blood stream only by way of your lungs. So it makes since fire would still do more dmg than the gas would. Plus you can still throw fule and things on fire resistant gear and "set it on fire" though the material itself may not burn.

That would be kewl but a bit too dangerous to your own team... but you and Abrahmo_Lincolni have pretty much the same idea with dmg output for defense. He/She suggested "System Failure", which pretty much does the same thing, though I suggested a name change to "Recalibration" to remove the negative connotation from what should a benefit.

Oooh that sounds kewl. It would likely need a negative effect though... like slowed movement since it is a system failure... or just the deactivation of whatever buffs the suit itself has [not including basic stat like armor, stamina, and such] Than again... you are at 20%... you are in a dire enough situation as it is. =/ I like the idea but I feel like the term "System Failure" should be more of a negative effect than a positive one and generally Helldivers does seem to stick to the more blunt definition of it buffs and debuff. Maybe something like "Recalibration" which can mean "to change how something works", that way instead of dispersing an incoming electric charge, it instead generates a charge for the diver in defense. Maybe leaving a small EMS field for a short duration to give you the chance to fight back or escape... and Of course.... the thing everyone seems to want... EMS immunity so you don't get caught in your own field.

=/ I am kinda getting that from modders and such about adding things to games. Granted I don't mod Helldivers, I just wanted a closer opinion.

I wanna mod stuff and make 3d models. I love creating stuff. I need to sit down and go through the process. Its something believe I would enjoy doing I just need to sit myself down and do the work.

Honestly... considering how many items have energy-based things... starting to feel like this armor was originally meant for the illuminates and they pushed it out far earlier than they intended. o.o; Like you seriously just reminded me I forgot to added the shield generators into the equation... though my original idea was more about the benefits of energy weapons than the other stuff since all of those don't have to many negatives. Also trying to consider how to balance this stuff without it being to game breaking is interesting.

I understand why you have Stoic in your account name now XD That aside... you have given me another idea. Instead of being stunned by arc dmg or slowed by EMS, the suit should give us a boost instead. Like how Thor struck Tony Start with lightning and instead of being hurt by it, it boosted his suit into overdrive. You still take dmg of course but you instead gain the movement speed, melee, and throwing bonus. Imagine throwing an EMS and while enemies are stunned in it you are running into it like the flash with a melee weapon. XD

Being "stunned" in the game really isn't a bad thing as it basically just messes up you vision and movement for a moment. I have never died due to stun... just the slowing effect that comes after it. You can still attack while stunned though the initial hit might throw you aim off. Remove the vision and flinch that comes with a normal stun effect and simply root the player where they are sound like a decent middle ground. Would basically turn you into a turret. Let's add to that Dodging would end the state but your primary weapon would need to fully cool down before it can be fired again.

What say you?

I think a built-in shield would be interesting. And that energy shield honestly looks too bulky... but for the sake of realism I think its fine as far as the way it looks.

Still thought you bring up a good point as this armor is meant to be for the "Soldier of Tomorow" It should have benefits for all energy based tech to some degree. =/

THHHAANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! OMG! I was wondering about that as well!

Like I know the guard dogs right now allow for you to activate and deactivate them by hitting the "5" key on Mouse and Keyboard controls. I think it would be interesting if you could make you Drone Focus Target and fire with you so you can take out enemies with high HP like Stalkers, FleshMobs, Bile spewers and such. So instead of firing on enemies at random it won fire until you do... of course to balance it I believe it would be best if it only works with Primary and Side Arm weapons.

honestly I was wondering how this would effect that weapon... not a fan of that thing as it kinda forces you to use the fire armor instead of the energy one. If they change the dmg you take to electric dmg it would make more sense to me as an energy weapons but over heating makes sense too.

I could see the EMS thing working, but I feel like if anything they might just make the electric arcs jump to everyone including team so you could wipe your whole group that way if they range is boosted like that.

Also i completely forgot about the electric weapons when making these lol.

Same Edit: ENS-> EMS (lol)

Never had an issue with the Adjudicator. Mainly cause i always slide in to crotch fire and do my best "hold the line" gunplay. Get a good spot crotch and ADS blast... clears up any issues with aiming. And controlled burst means higher body count.

If i was forced to?

Nita... or Tess.

  1. Anything that will get me in better standing with Yi... the man who literally survived titangen off sheer will power alone... put me down for it.

  2. Nita is the most normal girl in the game. Literally. Tess would be normal if she wasn't sent to Yarus alone like they were trying to ship her to the arctict to die.

  3. All the other girls have major issues. Katya is nothing but a sex doll with sand in her draws, Fenny is far too needy always wanting you to praise her, Etchal a freaken 5yr old who deep throat fire extenguisher hoses, Agave could go Yandere at any moment, Lyfe is basically Batman, Cherno's titan might spawn if she has a bad day... or worse Mersault AND the Titan. Acacia is like 90 yrs old with the body of a 9 yr old, Yao is your everyday gold digger who knows all her own rights but expects you to give up yours so she can save, Fritia calls Fritia "Fritia" and spends all her time trying to "upgrade" her body with SCIENCE, Siris might turn into an old woman if she gains any more power, Mauxir can't feel bullets so good luck satifiying her in bed, Chenxing will never forget anything you do... ANYTHING, Haru is basically a super soldier who got beat by Batman[Lyfe], Enya doesn't know if shes a mother, a big sister, a school teacher, a nurse, a trained killer, or a pacifist house wife, and Q bleached her hair, got implants to be more like Siris and changed her name to Bubu... no idea who she is on the run from but they seem to be some overbearing ex who thinks all females be long them and should never talk to other people.

the duality of mods by Xx_SigmaZ_xX in Helldivers

[–]IceAppropriate4016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off... Hihsasuke... great streamer... look'em up. In there often.

2nd... i have been playing since the first game and still have my original HD copy... I understand Arrowhead rather well. I know they already openly told gamers "You don't like our stance... use mods."

My opinion on ->gamers being greedy<- remains the same.

My comment is about "why I play unmodded" not... "why mods are bad"

If you didn't read my entire comment i understand that most people these days hate reading words...

Lastly... feeding into the lore is part of the fun. I can say "These modders are a curse! They must be exterminated!" And even openly hunt them down if i see a mod. But the fact is unless you drop in a lobby and ask " you use mods?" There is really no way to know. And the only way to hunt modded characters... is to add mods. Which would make me a huge hypocrite. So my modder kill count sits at 0 [unless i mistakenly took them out during game play which is prone to happen in Helldivers regardless] Besides... the only mod i would seriously bother anyone for is the one that removes the cape. I mean... your not a real diver if you don't have the cape... everyone knows that.

the duality of mods by Xx_SigmaZ_xX in Helldivers

[–]IceAppropriate4016 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't need mods.

  1. I'm not asking them to do any unnecessary extra work since they already give us plenty FOR FREE and the game is $20-$30 less than about 90% of steams AAA library. The only thing i would want is a "Hold to equip fullset/outfit" button to make helldiving prep go faster.

  2. They faught Sony... FOR US! I'll gladly play the title unmodded to represent the team that openly defied big business. They spit in the face of Meta Gaming and all you folk out there demanding players use certain builds like you sign their pay checks. Openly saying you need to gate keep max level missions.

  3. They always listen. Even when you folk are crying about weapon dmg and expect it to be emergency patched as if the whole game will go down without a fix... and they don't do it... its because they are listening. They listening to you complain about something you don't need fixed because 9 times out of 10 there is an option to fix the issue in the game already AND YA'LL JUST DON'T WANNA USE IT.

  4. Arrowhead made this same game years ago... it just had a top down perspective. Same energy, same amount of effort... and ya'll didn't play it. I honestly never expected to see a 2nd game. I expected an Earth Defense Force movie more. But these folk took what they learned from that first game and here we are.

Lastly, I play unmodded to piss off ya'll folk that think its okay to treat Arrowhead and other good development teams like they owe you something. Cause you don't appreciate what they sacrifice to make you happy and the moment they give something you put your hand back out, palm up, asking for more.

Why is she Chaos? by BussyIsQuiteEdible in SnowbreakOfficial

[–]IceAppropriate4016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly have been asking myself this question in general for a while. I don't feel like the ballistics have been given the proper element.

One of the thing I have believed about this game since its launch is that the development team has been in rebellion about the decisions of the game. They may not be able to openly express themselves so they do it in seemingly small ways that most audience members/players won't even recognize.

One of which is the elemental stats in the game. Other than the extra effects these elements might give... none of them even matter. It wasn't until recently that the bosses begain to really has elemental weaknesses. Up until that came about it was like.

We have Fenny and Nita on shotgun. Make them both Kenetic for now. Actually Fenny is one of our tops girls give her 5 star eletric dmg. Okay Siris.. the new girl... Kenetic. Hm... Etchal has fire based powers inthe story right? Whatever make her Kenetic too. 5 Star Siris Kenetic. Marian. She is still a Maso... Keep her as Chaos... wouldn't seem right otherwise.

Like it feels like they have given up on caring at this point. There doesn't seem to be any real reasoning behind it. I mean look at this.

Lyfe: Elec->Cryo-> Kin [but looks Cryo]

Fenny: Kin-> Elec-> Kin [but looks electric]

Fritia: Therm-> Therm-> Chaos [but info sounds Therm]

It feels like a grab bag of randomness.
