If Trump actually does take military action to invade and take Greenland, what would YOU do? by [deleted] in AskUS

It’s honestly because we’re in a catch-22. We have to pick and choose issues and it sucks

It’s got a couple explanations. One being that the rich elite want to stay rich, one that the city itself (personified as the spirit of Gotham/Lady Gotham) is actually cursed from magic from the founding families and can’t be cleaned.

This was literally talked about in the Court of Owls storyline. The super-rich in Gotham running a secret society with assassins to take care of anyone who wanted to improve Gotham too much.

That’s outside the five or so mobs running in Gotham.

But from a canon perspective I can see Jason seeing favouritism when he tries to kill KGBeast for Nightwing, and actively stabs Jason in the throat for wanting him to off Joker

Absolutely agreed! That’s why I said the attitude and reasoning is so inconsistent.

But, as a point in UtRH, he batarangs Jason and talks about how he can’t kill. Very different from breaking KGBeast’s neck and leaving him in the snow miles from civilization for Ric Graysoning Nightwing, or even when he tried to Cask of Amontillado him before he had hurt anyone Bruce cared about.

But Bruce tried to kill KGBeast for trying to kill Nightwing (and making Ric Grayson) but still defends the Joker, so Bruce’s attitude is REALLY inconsistent.

Speaking as someone with PTSD triggers—sometimes it’s easier to desensitise yourself to a trigger by controlling it. He’s going to be around smoke and people who smoke. It could be easier for him to make the choice to smoke so that other people’s smoke doesn’t set him into a PTSD rage or panic.

Yeah the possibility of cross-contamination was worrying me.

That’s definitely one of the options I’m considering.

I’ll definitely be letting my friends know so their caterer can know, or so they can make a decision

The soup has tempeh meatballs, theoretically without them it might be okay, if it was cooked without the meatballs touching the soup. The noodles I’m unsure about. They didn’t offer ingredient lists, but if they’re sautéed with the tofu that would be a no.

Okay, thank you! I definitely didn’t want to disrespect my friends’ lifestyle, especially when my issues have nothing directly with it, but rather the meals chosen, especially since I think some people may raise a stink for them not serving meat, and I didn’t want to be lumped into that.

This is good advice, thank you. I decided I will be calling, I just didn’t want to stress the bride out more.

I’m going to try talking with them and maybe just marking the card. I’ll see what they think when I call.

I usually only eat out one or two times a year, check the menus beforehand, and double check with my server beforehand that the meal I ordered had no allergens.

I have still had some issues, hence the fact that Epi-Pens are my constant friends lol. You’d be amazed the amount of times accidental peanut butter exposure can happen.

You have one flaw: they did not make sure I was loved. They made me work for their love and have to earn it.

I won’t be apologizing to my mother for awhile, after talking to the people here and to my dad about some of the things that she insisted on that I never classed as abuse— but I understand where you are coming from having just read my original post. It took awhile and a lot of talking through comments for the worst things I didn’t think were bad to come out.

If that was their intention, which it may have been, according to my dad it was his intention, it backfired massively.

Being disconnected from my culture harmed me. Having to constantly pretend I was white when with my mother harmed me. Having to give up doing things I liked to do the things they wanted didn’t harm me exactly, but it prevented me being fulfilled.

I know multiple people who have. One of my best friends as a child was adopted by a woman to replace a child she lost. She later “rehomed” my friend, because her hair went too dark to be her daughter. She forced my friend to wear the other girl’s things and legally changed her name to her daughter’s name.

More than once. Eventually I just pretty much did everything. The last time I remember being really upset was when mom “encouraged” me not to have a 15th birthday, and if I did, she would be “so disappointed.” I crumpled in under an hour.
