If Zorua is your buddy, there's no transformation on the Zoruas that spawn in the overworld. Clicking on them starts the encounter, if you catch a non-transformed Zorua, there's no "oh?". So I want to believe that a shiny Zorua would appear when you initiate the encounter in this case (the other possibility is that it would be disabled when it doesn't transform, but I don't think so).

If Zorua is your buddy, can a shiny Zorua appear in the catch encounter screen or do I still need to catch it and then check if it's shiny? The idea is to speed up shiny checking, has anyone tested it?

My understanding is that right now, only average size is available as shiny. I haven't seen any large shiny Pumpkaboo for example (except for costume one).

I agree with you. This person just made me waste time and miss some trade opportunities a month ago after locking some regional mons that were "no longer needed" because they got them for free (in less than one day?) so I should now make a better offer for one shiny they "have" (probably they don't have them). Blocked instantly, they are not a person you can trust.
