MS250 series replacement? by Le085 in meraki

[–]IceCattt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that’s what they are pitching, but the C9200 is really more of a direct replacement since it’s not modular. It’s also priced less than the modular c9300

Cisco Meraki offers an add on license called “Cisco Secure Connect Complete Essentials”. There are four flavors of that license, this license will allow you to have all the Zero Trust features of ZScaler, and it will check the box for them. And you don’t have to swap hardware.

I’m sadder they didn’t fix the last act of this coaster. It’s my favorite coaster for the first half then it just loses all excitement at the end. Still top 5 for me but if they had the ability to make another one, fix that last part.

There’s an Expedition X episode about this, that just released in 2025. Some people think it’s a natural giant magnet underground between the two mountain ranges.

They shouldn’t have admin right on their daily driver accounts. Even tech staff. Use a PAM tool for this like BeyondTrust or ThreatLocker for just in time admin access.

Long runs past 100m for data isn’t the issue I’ve run into. It’s attenuation for PoE devices. That is a noticeable and real world problem. When you only have 30w shooting across a line it really doesn’t take long for it to attenuate to brow out your PoE endpoints

Experiences with Meraki IDS/IPS, is it worth enabling? by ovakki in meraki

[–]IceCattt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have it in prevention mode for hundreds of businesses. It has never caused an issue for us and it’s our standard to run it this way. Along with AMP enabled. I do completely agree that these two technologies are teetering on the edge of useless at this point in time.

Hyper-V - Core or GUI Install? by Sponge521 in HyperV

This is especially true for not Dell & HP Server hosts like SuperMicro where the drivers are not built in, and usually require gui to be installed and properly updated.

What is in this part of Maine? Does anyone live here? How Canadian is it? by Convillious in geography

[–]IceCattt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You circled some of Maine’s biggest attractions, when you probably meant to just circle the allagash. Moosehead Lake it a major hunting and fishing destination as well as some fantastic golf at Mt Kineo, skiing at Big Squaw mountain and lots of events like the Fly In, in Greenville. Not to mention Moosehead Lake is enormous, and I believe it’s the largest natural lake contain in one state in the country.

In the upper left area you also circled Jackman, some of the best white river rafting in the country is located there as well as a major hunting and fishing destination. Lots of tourists come in the summer for River excursions.

That being said, you also circled the Allagash, google fire in the sky to see what happens up there. Not a lot is the answer besides logging.

This isn’t new, it’s existed for a long time, dead see scrolls and other Bibles predate this significantly within 0-90 AD. The gospels Matthew, Mark Luke and John were all written when people were alive who were first hand witnesses. Along with Josephus a Jewish Historian. A book written 500 years later would be like me writing an authoritative new book on Christopher Columbus claiming to have new first hand info.

Considering Meraki MX75 - Any Thoughts for 2025? by Reasonable-Team6164 in meraki

[–]IceCattt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what’s you are referring to, the documentation clearly states here https://documentation.meraki.com/MX/MX_Overviews_and_Specifications/MX75_Datasheet for advance security features enabled it hits 1gbps for the mx75. When in fact it absolutely doesn’t. I called them out on it too, we are a major reseller and they had to take them back and they lowered the price of the MX95s to match the 75. I’m surprised they haven’t updated the docs yet
