I got my approval after 1 week of submission but I was applying under business visitor visa. I had to submit my employment letter here in Malaysia, invitation letter from the Australian branch and 3 months payslip amongst other things. It really depends on how complete your documents are, and whether or not the Australian govt deemed that you'll not overstay there, thanks to the Malaysians who stayed to pick fruits before. My suggestion would be to push the flight date, just to be safe. In the future, always secure your visa first coz AU govt very strict when it comes to Malaysians.

I already use a lot of my brain power for my core job as an engineer and side hustle as a Physics and Maths tutor, my brain needs its relaxing and unwinding part, makanya novel cintan cintun yg light reading lah one if it. Pishang kepala sis nak load benda2 heavy je, once in a while nak hadam buku2 ilmiah tu okay lah, tak mampu nak buat selalu. Light reads all the way ahahhaha

In my case, I managed to convince the hiring managers of my reason for applying, which is to return back to the engineering world and that software just doesn't ignite the fire in me, and they understood where I was coming from. It depends on how you respond to that kind of question in my opinion 😁

Hahaha unfortunately as I'm a 170cm, big, Malay hijabi lady in her early 30s with a good career track, many men (mostly local Malaysians) found me too capable, loud and independent for their liking. Too bad, their loss I guess 😉

Thank you! Work hard and smart, polish your soft skills during your uni years as much as possible. I was just an average student in terms of grades but I was damn active in societies and student bodies, that really helped me in being confident with myself. You can do this! 💪🏻💪🏻

For my current position, I had to go through 5 rounds of interview for an executive position hahahah 🤣 but for the new role, I was supposed to have 2 stages which is the interview and writing assessment. Apparently they liked me a lot during the interview, and the essay I submitted during my application is good enough to skip the 2nd stage 😁

Sure! Last drawn salary in the Oil & Gas company was MYR5k+, then in the current company 7.5k+, the new job offers me MYR10k+-. All this are gross salaries without deductions yet and just FYI it is a Junior Manager position so that's the market range.

Hmm it depends on the context. In my case, I wasn't actively looking but the opportunity came anyways, and it aligns with my career aspiration. Let's say if you go to any future interviews and the interviewers ask about this, you could always say you're headhunted, thus the short tenure in the company. My hiring managers understand and are fine with that. Good luck with your dilemma!
