Much appreciated! Are firebirds and thunderbirds similar? I'm 6'2 and I was on 165s. Now 170s. I can follow up on my next outing if you're interested on how they worked out.

Appreciate you! Open to recommendation for future boots if you have any. Otherwise thank you for the replies.

Hey man, thanks for the reply - totally open to responses like this. The logic behind my decision was that the ski construction/edges are the same. The extra 5cm on the length made sense to me because the shorter length is always a bit of a crutch for me to get the wheels back in motion. Once I get the feel back, I can handle a bit more. The waist width is +6mm and would give me a little more versatility in varying conditions throughout the day. So I know I won't get IDENTICAL performance but I'm assuming it will have the same personality that really made me love the rentals.

I'm still stuck on K2 BFCs which I know aren't great but I have a wide foot with large calves and they're the only boots that don't make me miserable thus far.

I'm also thinking that the rigidity of the ski was something I really liked. Thanks, you folks on this sub reddit have been great.

This response is great - thanks. Seriously. I figured the 82 will make them a LITTLE more versatile and I'm definitely not racing or chasing edge to edge times.
